Oh man, was I ever glad I invested $260.00 in my new DBX 166XL. Last night it worked it magic for me on my sound rental. The DJ that patches into my board always send me a hot and sometimes distorted signal (Poor MP3s).
He usually has my peak/clip lights on my EQ and amps going like crazy. Not last night! The 166 took care of that lil' problem and cleaned up the signal, not to mention limiting it.
My clip lights rarely came on last night and when they did, just briefly, a blink! Most DJs won't need this piece of equipment because they are smart enough not to overdrive their amps with too strong a signal. However, when dealing with power hungry DJs, they think volume knobs are everything!
Now I am running out of rack space unless I retire one of my 4 space amps for a two spacer. Hmmm, I'll have room for the 166 plus a Reverb! Big question now, Lexicon or DBX.... we will see.:triwink:
