I have been beating the crud out of my matrix 1000 for a few weeks now. I lent it to a friend to DJ a bar gig in a 28x50ft dance floor. No problems. I crank the hell out of it every day. He cranked the hell out of it. Needless to say the owner of the bar is now buying 2 matrix 1000 systems to replace his EV setup that cost him over 4000$. I dont care what anyone says they got the V2 right.

Like one of the above posters said.. Every company has duds. Usualy early in the production cycle. EV as it goes requires a ton of gear to sound good.

At the rate people in the NJ area are buying B52 gear atm I would expect them to become a standard. Event he mexican bars are all B52 in my town. Its all about performance per $$$. Its no different then anything else. If people like what they see and how much it costs and feel they are getting a deal they will buy more and tell there friends. For what you spend B52 is imo by far the best entry and mid level gear you can find atm. Cant speak for anything aside from there speakers and active setups..

That's really funny! A pair of Matrix 1000s is replacing a $4,000 EV system. Someone doesn't know what they're doing, I guarantee it. I see a lot of people operating audio gear that can't hear the difference between good sound and bad sound and have no clue how to adjust a system to sound good and can barely operate a mixer. I'd really like to know what the $4,000 EV system consists of.

I'm not saying a pair of Matrix 1000s won't sound good and it's a great way to have built in backup. So far I've never heard anyone who has heard a properly set up EV system say that it sounded bad. All the EV speakers I've heard were comparable or better sounding that whatever I was comparing them to. There is no arguing that the Matrix 1000 is a lot of bang for the buck, where are you going to get a decent pair of speakers and a powered sub for $799?

Its like I said its abourt performance per $$. I just hung his new setup. Packed up his 2 passive subs and 2 racks of gear+ 4 cabonets. He sold it to another bar in the next town over who has alot of live bands ect. No more amps, procs, comps. Its at the point now that a total retard can use the gear. It sounds better right out of the box. You cant go wrong. The company he hired to do his sound is unhappy but thats ok they have contracts in NYC with just about every happening club so Im sure they are not to worried.
