They can't be serious with the budget for DJ services... $500 is a slap in the face for what they want.

I've see $300.00 for 6 hours and must be present for the rehearsal. I know one thing - I will NOT be the DJ for the wedding!

Maybe if they doubled their DJ budget it would be worth the 12 hour day.... to me with all the demands already stated in the inquiry this looks to be a PITA event.

I don't mind the extra work or even the excuse to buy more equipment.... but the price needs to be equal to the task.... for me that price would have had to been around $1200-$1500 for me to even consider the event.

With all they are expecting, I'd hit them with a $2000 charge. For $500 the most their going to get it the college kid down the street with his iPod, Community speakers, and a few Mr. Microphones.:sqlaugh:

Ahh.... WeddingWire. :D

I don't get the 12 hours part. Is that a typo, ya think? :dontknow:

It appears that they're going from noon to 3:00 PM. Five for a three-hour show ain't a bad paycheck if it wasn't a wedding.

Three lav mics... that's asking a bit much. Many DJ companies don't own that many lav packs.

Those are the start times...

The Ceremony in this case starts at Noon

Followed by the Reception at 3pm

But maybe I read it wrong.

I'm not sure if you saw that they included an After Party as well in the description. I want to be asked just so I can say "are f#$%ing kidding me".:sqeek:

Well, this begs the question: How much would the harpist and bagpiper cost for 12 hours of service? :D

Honestly, I can't imagine a wedding, from start to finish, lasting 12 hours. Since this in a back yard engagement, you suppose the guests are gonna camp out on the prairie all night?

It does say 12 hours needed, With the extras, I'm thinking more than 2k for a basic setup. Maybe more I don't even have 3 lav mics but could arrange it, and the 4th mic the hand held. Most DJ's don't even have a mixer that can take 4 mic inputs. I guess you could go with one of those 4-1 receivers.

Fred, down here they tend to last a very long time. I've been to a bunch of them that start at 7:00 PM and I'd be getting my car back from the valet at 8:00 AM after breakfast :)

Aw tell me about it, Doc Jacob.

Gosh, I remember some of the backyard and field parties that lasted all day and night. One was after a wedding, others were HS grad parties and such. The client took everyone's car keys upon arrival so no one would try driving home drunk.

Boy, did they get schockered... there was all kindsa beer in kegs, popskull liquor and the stuff they brought with them. Had three gas grills going most of the day, people cooking and eating and drinking. At around 3:00 AM, most were passed out in their cars or the beds of their pickups. Some just spent the night passed out on the ground. :D

I'd turn in for some shuteye in the house. Get up the next morning and load the gear in the truck. Those were the days. :)

I did a few of them years ago. I used to drink back in those days they were much more fun back then I can't imagine doing them now

This is one reason why I don't do backyard weddings anymore. They want you all day and they never end when they're supposed to. I always leave these thing on a bad note because drunks that think they're better than me presume that they can buy me out of going home when I've had enough.

"Dance monkey, dance!"

Looks like a bait piece from a pot stirring DJforum player with too much time on his hands.

Sounds like a job for a Premier Disc Jockey.
