My question to those is "If you have a Limo service and you are charging a certain price, would you keep that price the same if you started offering Stretch Limos?"

not the same at all.
limousines are ONE complete object......so of course you'd charge more for the bigger one.
DJ + light show are two separate objects. They can be separated and given a value of their own.
sometimes FREE light shows are like FREE DELIVERY.
you're actually paying more for the food, and which pays for the "FREE" delivery.

I beg to differ! That is a poor analogy. What you just "said" is akin to "Fee Pizzas are like Free Delivery!" It makes absolutely no sense! Sorry!

When I was doing light shows, they were always an upgrade. We had packages that would start at $125 and move upward. Depending on the price of your show (I am not asking); I believe a good price for the Pocket Scans and the Tempest would be around that ballpark.

Thanks Al

I think I would like to give each option their own price and I think at my presentation that i have tomorrow (It will be the first time I do this) I think I will just look at the Groom and ask how much would you want to spend to have these lights at your party. I will post tomorrow what they say if they show up for the appointment.

My presentation tomorrow I will show them the 4 Star Balls I use with the price of my DJ Service.

I will then turn on the Tempest and demonstrate

Then I will add the Pocket scans on and demonstrate

My luck they will say they are happy with the Star Balls....LOL

We will see tomorrow.
.

I don't think I would EVER ask 'how much would you want to spend'. At this point, you're asking your customers value of something - and in most cases, that number will NOT be something you will want to hear. Imagine your car dealer asking you how much you want to pay for the extras? Would you offer anything near the amount they want?

I first ask questions pertaining to everything that would add cost, then when I have all the answers, I give a fixed Total Figure. To me, adding on prices/charges, seems like nickel and diming!

Similar here. I can get an idea based on the room of what systems I can use to reach what the customer wants. Lighting, for me anyways, comes after. I can have a small, medium or large light show (or even none). To me, the size of the room has little to do with that - it's all in what the customer wants. I can make any of those work. As such, there is a different cost for each. Once the client decides what they want, they see one cost.

Cesar, I was curious how you planned to display your Tempest? The unit was designed to hang from the ceiling directly over the dance floor, not mounted on their side facing the crowd(even though they work fine and look great this way). You may want to consider some box truss if you plan to fly this beast.

I have taken it out two times with me so far and set it on a table off to the side of me. I will probably design a foldable stand that matches my facade that I will place the light on.

Thanks for asking.
