Any pictures? Status of the van? Provide as much information you can, PM me if you prefer, I have a client of mine (did an outdoor speaker system for him). My client deals with used cars that dealers wish to trade/bid with other dealers. I am pretty sure with the proper information can get you a blue book price.

Thanks Travis.... I haven't even started to look. In fact, I just got the A-OK from my wife to start looking. Just wanted to get a basic idea....

Papa,
One recommendation, if you can get your hands on a Ford Aerostar, that would be your best bet. The biggest advantage it has is the drivetrain (It's a rear wheel drive or if you are lucky you may find a AWD version which would help specially if it snows where you live). The RWD is cheaper in it's maintenance and it has a beefier transmission than the FWD.

I just bought a 2005 Chevy Astro van with 14,000 miles on it and paid $14,999. Power seats, windows, locks and all wheel drive. I was looking into the possibility of buying a Caravan or Windstar with a similar criteria as you. Here in Maine, from reputable used car dealerships the prices I kept seeing were between $11,000 and $13,000. The upper end of the price range usually included options.

For a couple thousand extra, I decided to go all wheel drive with some frills as well. Long winters with snow here made me think twice about what I wanted. Best of luck with your search

I bought a 12 yr old Dodge Caravan 2 yrs ago cause it was such a sweet deal. I couldnt pass it up for 4200 Canadian and with only 115,000 KLM but very modest miles it drove without one little vibration rattle etc and the body in perfect shape. Ive had good fortune with it knock on Wood, but I actually was truly looking to get a Astro for the durability factor giving up a bit in fuel saving side. The Astro is a much easier load though so are the Fords but though a long time Ford and Dodge van I have seen many Astro's still rolling with the Dodges Transmissions Gone and the Fords Blocks melted. Its my view from experience but I am now driving the Dodge cause it was too good of a deal. I'll tell that story in another thread sometime but Papa. Good luck keep us up on your search.
