Canute I'm glad you explained things better as what I've seen you post in the past about your setup is you're very particular about that part. You need it to be in a certain location and just the way you want it. If that works for you fine.

I just find that the venue doesn't belong to me and I try to do my best to cooperate with the venue. Now if they allow me to do something I want to do then fine. If not then I do my best to make the best of it and make my money that the client is paying me. What I certainly do know is some places can be a pain. Either with the load in or dealing with some of the staff working there. Now another very good reason to visit a site if you can would be to find out about the load in and load out. Where will you be allowed to bring your gear and how difficult will it be if at all. Some venues are a pain alone for that. Now factor in a rude worker in the venue that isn't very friendly. I'm great at just smile and not let such people get to me. Sure there are those I've wanted curse out but I don't.

Some I'm just glad the event is over so hopefully I don't have to deal with that person again or in the near future.

Sometimes you guys fail to realize that it not all about the DJ. It is the Client renting and paying for the space. I am part of the Client's package and i expect no favors from the Venue. They do not hold any power over me. The things that I ask them to do is always on behalf of the Client. In other words it is not my game, I am only a player, it is the Client's game. Some Venues like to treat DJs like they are their vendors. I am not the Venue's vendor. Once the venue and I have that understanding then all will be well. Don't get me wrong, I am not combative with them but at the same time I won't allow them to push me around.
