A question or two for solo ops who have multiple systems...

No if a Nascar driver is driving my cab I want to get paid for riding with him!
I actually have 4 systems ranging from 4800w down to 750w, plus a 360 watt "mini" for teeny venues and homes.
My answer is OF COURSE I charge differently, but when speaking to a client I hinge the pricing on the event SIZE.
The work and fuel involved carrying my mini in a car is not the same as the work and fuel hauling one of my larger systems in a van. Then there is setup and breakdown.
The mini or the 750 is a two speaker system ( 12s for the mini, 15s for the 750). As I go up in system I go up in speaker size and quantity. If I'm doing straight karaoke no thumpers are involved, but I use them for mixed or straight DJ events.
Of course I don't bring this up to prospective clients. I just ask about the type of event, how many guests and type of venue. From this info I know which system I will be using, and charge accordingly, along with special needs or date info.
