Just wondering Dee Jay Rig

What did you learn from Scott's post? I've studied it twice to see if there was any solid advice or operating techniques but I couldn't find any. So it puzzled me to see your statement that you always learn something from Scott's posts.

Me thinks he was being a smart :yomoon:

Hi Scott,

As usual, i enjoy your posts to the fullest, and always learn something new from them, thanks to your positive attitude.

When you wrote:

"He was aweful, very boring, monatone, didnt keep things moving, didn't seem in charge, just not a good mc. very outdated equipment. "

It is to respect you opinion, since you've been in the business for a long time, by the same token, I have seen dj's who get paid a lot of money and come in with a lot of flashy equipment, but they are overly cheesy, they clown around a lot and don't have any mixing skills.

I would not judge a dj on ONE performance, because what if they bride and groom requested a solemn, quiet disc jockey? Now, the outdated equipment, i find no excuse for it. How did it sound?

Great reading you Scott.

Thanks for the kind words. Sure, it's possible this person was having a very bad night. however, the sound was not good, the set up did not look good, he did not seem or act prepared. I would be shocked if the bride wanted it that way.

See, this would be a post that some would consider unprofessional. While not using any profanity, you chose to take a post that someone was complimenting another and tried to make it mean spirited and negative. Just like you did with the post about the cancer charity, and just like you did with kyle's fundraiser and you chimed in about taking breaks. There is a big difference between trying to be funny and being mean spirited.

If you are wondering why you are always getting kicked out of places, these would be examples why.

Hope you find that useful.:sqwink:

It just seems to me to be a total contradiction that someone could be such a successful dj as you claim to be because he/she would have to be very good at networking, communicating, building relationships and getting people to like you and understand you. Yet you constantly seek out opportunities on these boards to irritate as many people as you can. That's not the sign of a good sales person, which the most successful dj would need to be.

You can keep it up all you want. You won't get me sucked in to a profanity filled post that it sounds like you are trying to.

Scott

It was a observation based on years of reading posts on chat boards. It was intended to show the DJ that people read their posts and how ridiculous it is to post something that makes no sense. It was a opportunity for the DJ to correct me in case I misunderstood the post.

Scott I rarely try to be funny.

so...you were trying to show rig that he is being ridiculous because he finds my posts helpful. Alllrigttty then...

the fact is you understood his post perfectly well. He was being nice. You simply tried to put someone down. You use this passive aggressive tactic all the time and then try to say...."i was only trying to be helpful"...or "i was only trying to get people to think".

It cannot be an observation of years on chat boards because you are usually kicked out way before then.:sqwink:

Cesar,
If you are going to criticize someone for posting things that make no sense, please make sure that your posts are absolutely perfect. You may be on an online forum, but spelling and grammar still apply here if you want people to even think about taking you seriously.

See once again Scott you have your blinders on when it comes to me.

First - The post was made to the other DJ but some how you feel the need to speak up for him.

Second - I've rarely found your posts helpful so would it come as a big surprise that I would question someone that says your posts are?

Third - I wasn't trying to be helpful or trying to get people to think. I was asking a question and what is the problem with that.

Fourth - I would easily retract my question if you could show me in your post what was helpful and being Nice is not what I consider helpful.

Fifth - Your reply to my years of observations of Chat Boards just shows you and me are the Bull and the Matador. You only see Red when you see my posts and react accordingly.

here is what my "blinders" tell me.

You are a lonely individual that has extreme difficulty with personal and business relationships. Your posts suggest that you have a hard time feeling sympathy or empathy for anyone. You only look at people for what they can do for you, so when people discover that, they leave. Or you leave before they can. Your posts about DJing being more important than spouse/family/ friends suggests that. So you've created this "bad guy" super hero image that is super successful and all knowing. If this character you've created really had the ego the storyline suggests, he'd be shouting his name from the rooftops and wanting everyone to admire the Mega DJ company he's created.
Your posts mentioned you met with Sawdust. You didn't find it productive because he couldn't do anything for you. He probably spent his time trying to get to know you, but you took it as someone trying to pry into your world and uncover the "real" you. It was the only DJ you've met from a board and you couldn't even remember his name. Again, that is not a sign of a super salesman.
You think the only respect you can get from anyone is by trying to get someone to think you are more successful than they are. It's sad, because there are a lot of great people here that would be your friend, regardless of how many shows you do. But you don't believe that. You think everyone here will "abandon" you if they find out what you are really like, just like everyone in your real life has.

Your posts are that of the typical "one upper". Everything you do is better, faster, more efficient, and more productive than anyone else. Its much easier for you to do that here than in real life because you can remain hidden(again...not a sign of a super sales person)

Your posts attack people you feel have wronged you. When Kyle said something about you....you attacked his posts or try to put him down in your subtle ways just as you do with me. You feel you are extremely smart by trying to put mean posts together that don't have profanity....so therefore should not be removed or edited. You rejoice when they respond back using profanity. In your mind, it makes you smarter because you can be demeaning in much more sophisticated ways.

That is what my blinders tell me.

All I can say is wow. Just wow...

no really I can say a lot more. Scott's blinders post is a good one in my opinion it is my opinion.

Cesar you still just keep asking questions so are you the all knowing or the all unknowing? Are you green, new a little wet behind the ears?

Although there are djs in California that are on this board there are probably not a tremendous amount in your area, you really couldnt hurt by sharing your personal experiences.

The Lighting on the B&G post was good
Heck I thought the Jesus post before it got railroaded was good. I actually didnt realize you get that out west as much as we get that out here in the bible belt.

Why ruin these good posts with the ones that make others think you're so ugly?

Is it fun?

If you do a post like the B&G dance lighting post, why not put in your experience, you will get the positive results you are looking for like:

Subject: Dollys

Cesar writes: I have found that as a professional DJ the Dolly is one of my most important tools it allows me to get in and out of a venue quickly and effeciently <sp>, maximize set up time and in turn have more pre-event face time with the client or planner, what have your experiences been like using a dolly...

anyways you dont really need to be an ass all the time if you are who say you are, a superstar, than have no fear and put your real stuff on here...

I am going to start a side business....The forum profiler. I will examine the posts and be able to tell you what the person behind the posts is really like.

My posts suggest I should be a super model or a male stripper, but my modesty prevents it:sqwink:
