Here is my issue right now. Steve Cie who built our website wants to add things to our site. He needs the info to get into the site to add the things he wants to add the site.

Now I don't know the customer ID or password for this as it was created a long time ago. I'm talking years ago. Now I don't remember the email I used back then to setup the account. I've been trying to get 1 and 1 to give me a new password so the changes can get made to the site. I faxed them the change of form along with my ID. I was later on told to send an email after I was told I could fax the info. So I sent an email and no response. I called them back to find out how this issue can get taken care of and was told to send another email. I did that and still nothing.

So all together before yesterday I sent at least 4 emails trying to get things taken care of. So they still keep dragging their feet. I talked to someone yesterday. They gave me another email address to send it to and said it should take 24 to 48 hours to get done. Right now still nothing. So what I plan to do is see if I receive an email from them by Saturday and if not try calling one more time. Then if after that it isn't taken care of just simply cancel and look for a new host. If I did do that who do you use to host your site and how much is it?
 
Ran into a bride that went with another Disc Jockey for her reception to save $75.00. She basically told me she made the wrong choice. Was not very happy!!

Actually, my son uses it.
He bought me the domain name for Christmas, and renews it every year...so I have no idea how much he pays.
He's a web designer/developer by trade, and not the richest guy in town...
so I can only imagine he is happy with the service and the price.

I had a similar issue when I changed internet providers.
I couldn't get into one of my accounts, and they couldn't send me my login/password info
because they only had my OLD email address.

You have to realize that they have NO idea who you are.
You could be ANY jerk, trying to hack into someone else's website.
If someone was trying to hack you, you'd be GLAD they were being difficult about it!
Of course, 4 emails is a bit much, though.

It is not difficult to get them to give you the password/login. Just let them know how and when the Bill is paid. (One of the benefits of using Credit Cards) if they still refuse then tell them that you would instruct your CC company to decline future payments. That will get their attention.

I have a 3x5 card box in my safe that has all the info for my credit cards, insurance info, bank accounts and things like my website key codes and such. I can understand why it would take a bit to get the login info if you can't provide the needed information.

That being said, a few months ago when I changed my website to a WordPress format I moved my hosting from godaddy to MDD hosting and couldn't be happier. MDD hosting is $7.50 per month.

I just got off of the phone with them. They sent me an email. The password change has finally been done. I just don't like that when I first faxed them the info they were to lazy to look for it. Then me having to go through all of this to get this done was too much. I'm just glad I was able to keep my cool and not curse someone out. I just can't wait to see what Steve has in mind to add to the site. I really hope he is able to add the video from that class reunion we did. That was awesome and I was surprised how great it turned out!

That is the site and right now I have the one video that is good enough to add to the site. I want more of course. I have a few others but nothing good enough to add to the site. Tunes remember I retired from my day job and right now I have time to work on a business plan to get things in high gear. Part of it is making the website look much better and I plan in July to look at paid online advertising.

Keep everything in software -- with secure encryption -- synced to two lappys. I keep my safe in my car, have a very loud dog, a large coyote, dozen deer, a couple cats, 16 cameras surrounding the building (all with IR), a full alarm system and I don't go out much. Full motion detectors around the perimeter, Oh, and I sleep with an AK-47. What are the odds...?

Wen you put that much time and money into your security -- it's kinda hard to forget passwords.
