I went to Unique Photo and bought a tripod to hold my camera and a Godox speedlite. I didn't have the money to buy the 430 you suggested Taso. The one I bought will do nicely for now.
I tried it out in my partners house a bit and it was cool. Got the event to do on Saturday and I'll see how it is at the event.
Then I went to GC and bought a tripod mic stand. Also the piece to hold the mic. I plan on using it Saturday as somebody or some people have speeches they want to make.
The event is for someone in recovery celebrating 10 years of being clean and serene. Along with a birthday celebration. I might know some people attending the event. I just hope those who know me won't expect me to play that know I DJ. Anyhow I bought these items to use for future events and not just this one.
My partner is saying we're going to have a good time. I'll wait and see. I don't get excited most of the time about an event until the event is going on and things are going well.
My partner was just planning to bring a corded mic and that's it. I told him we're bringing both the dual cordless mics and the corded one as well. Don't half step when doing a private event. Now it would be something different if I was playing in a bar or club. For everything it just a little over $200. Anybody else working this weekend? We will be using the EV Tour 2152 speakers for this event as they look great and sound great.
One other note. Unique Photo had a Panasonic TV for sell for $100. My DJ friend talked me out of getting it as it was attached to a very nice stand. It was a 48 inch TV I was told. It might have been a Plasma TV. The big issue besides it being so cheap is that it was super heavy. They said they would get it loaded in the van. That's fine but what about when I get it to my house. How will it get in the house and in my room to get setup? So forget about buying that TV. It was nice and a great price. Just don't know who I could get to help get it in the house without needing to go to the hospital when finished.
