Ryan it could be but you need to finish the product otherwise it seems like an unfinished thread until then.

Hi Jon,

I think I'm a bit late with this answer as you post it few weeks ago ....

I'm not very fluent in english so I'll try to answer as I understood !

I'm not a professional DJ, but I used to animate some parties for birtdays or weddings. The goal of learning about freestyler is to prepare a show for the french Telethon. We will have about ten singers and dancers, so a bit of lights around them would make a nice event.

My main problem now is to understand how to synchronize Music and Lights. I tried another kind of software which permits to have a timeline with both tracks for music and video and then tracks for lights like a video editor...
I'd hope FreeStyler can do the same .... :sqembarrassed:

Hey gang.... my first post!!
I am a "techie"... I've been into MIDI for quite a number of years. I am involved with MIDI Bands. I currently use Cakewalk's Sonar 4 and 5. I have played guitar since I was 14. I have played the club scene around here for the last 20 years playing my guitar singing as a hightech MIDI Band. Sometimes as a singles act and sometimes with local Bands.

Now it's time for me to automate my lights and sync it up with AND CUE it with Sonar for a live automated light show.
I have a Basic American DJ controller; two DMX dimmer packs; One intelligent Color changer and 4 par 38 cans. I have a large dedicated Dell desktop with RAID drives as well as a couple of Dell laptops. I actually have 4 more Par 64's but don't use them because the club scene around here in the sports bars have basic house current and those light tend to blow fused because of the wattage draw.
I downloaded and have begun studying FREESTYLER software. I ordered the ENTTEC Pro and waiting for it's delivery by UPS... it didn't make it today... darn.... will have to wait till Monday...<Grin>

I'm seriously considering adding 4 Chauvet scanners to my truss in the studio and not using the pars at all. Gotta keep the setup small, portable, with the most bang for the buck and a great light show.

I already under the DMX protocol, so get as technical as you want with me... no problem.

I have LOTS of questions... so standby... I'll need a bit of help from you all. I have been hitting the internet really hard this last week reading everything I can.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the posts and the help so far.
