Shopping cargo vans wow

I’m in need of a new 1 ton van for the car wash business, Looks like GMC/chevy is currently the best option only one with V8 available, best towing ability lowest price by far I looked at Ford Dodge and GM is there anything I’m missing. Does need to be new for tax reasons mostly for hauling Random stuff barrels of soap, and other chemicals

Any reason you are stuck on a V8? Modern V6s have incredible torque. Diesels have the highest torque.

No diesel options in cargo vans under $70,000, all V6 gas options are turbo or high revving to get the power, the one I am replacing is a gas 2008 that I bought new and had 437,000 miles on it, and will still be used as a backup, I will never see that longevity with a v6 or turbo motor

Myself I have been looking for a vehicle since the van I had was a 2004 and I was told the engine was done. All together the mechanic wanted $2,600. A thousand dollars for the labor and $1,600 for the engine. It wasn't worth it.

I was on the phone today talking to a dealership and they had a 2016 with low mileage it said in the ad. The price was a bit over 7K. The lady told me the issue with the van is that it needed transmission work. So forget that. Still just looking for now.

My credit is fair. It's in the middle. Not bad and not good to great either.

The other issue for me is paying rent and buying food. Me and my sister have a food stamps card that helps a little. Yet certainly not enough for us to get food for the entire month. All I know is God will make a way. Just have to put a plan in action. I know now to certainly watch out for the interest if you are to finance a vehicle. Lastly I have been looking at a SUV instead of a van. I would really like a van if feasible.

Almost every vehicle I have ever owned has lasted well over 300,000 miles, proper regular maintenance and the will all last,
My regular schedule is oil changes every 5000 miles full synthetic, transmission and differential fluids every 40,000 along with the fuel filter, all other fluids are every other year,

Mix get an suv or minivan. It’s not just more practical for everyday use… but there’s also financial aspects. A cargo van has higher interest rates on loans than regular vehicles. It also has higher insurance rates. Lastly, fuel efficiency… van gets the lowest mpg usually. Overall it can cost more to own a van vs an suv both priced at $10,000

Why are you so caught up on a gas guzzling full size cargo van? Why not look into a mini van, or small to mid size suv? Better gas mileage, more comfortable, less noise because you are not driving a hollowed out un-insulated brick down the road.

If you picked up a small suv or mini van you would probably save at a couple hundred bucks per month just on gas.

Is your pension that bad that you need to supplement it with food stamps? Does your sister help with the rent and household costs?

You are at the age where you should be enjoying your retirement, not worrying if you have enough money for food.

I hope that things get better for you soon.
