I don't think you do ..

We're up to page 9 and what have we concluded or learned?
That you keep asking pricing questions, don't read the answers too carefully, and don't heed the suggestions?

Since he won't answer, I'll guess: His starting rate for a wedding is just/barely/almost immeasurably north of the Federal minimum hourly wage.
... split amongst the partners ..

Here let me help you mix. 4hr wedding on a Saturday in May, at the pines manor in Edison, nj. Sound for reception only is needed. 125 guests. If you can’t come up w a price for that, then idk how you’ll ever book anything. That info alone will get a $2500 quote from me with no additional info necessary. What about you?

He will need to know what type of crowd will be there and what type of music they want before he can quote,

You said one thing that's true. I do ask a potential client the styles of music they want for their event. Remember it's their event and not ours. It's one thing to do an event for someone you already have done an event for or you know them personally. A lot of potential clients are people I don't know and have never met. So I don't like playing a guessing game. Also I like to find out other details before deciding to agree to do an event. The thing with styles of music I can get a good handle on the people who will be attending an event. For example if it's a older couple in their 40's getting married I figure their taste in music will be different from a couple in their 20's.

I didn't answer the question asked because some of you will disagree no matter what I say. Some will say I'm lying and some will say I'm not charging enough.
