Got a wedding to do on July 25th.

The wedding is officially a go. Got the rest of the money and the other issues are taken care of. The guy who's getting married he was fine with going to City Hall and get married. His fiance didn't want that and guess who won?
Mask up .. You don't want you or your business blamed as being the one who infected everyone at the wedding ...

"However, indoor wedding receptions may not be held and indoor wedding venues, indoor catering halls, and indoor banquet halls remain closed in New Jersey."

"Unfortunately, dance floors at venues are closed due to the high-risk of spreading COVID-19 in these spaces, where many individuals may be in close contact with one another."

Agian not sure how the wedding reception is still on and even better with a DJ.

I just want to know how the wedding is a go when in NJ the venues are still ordered closed?

A venue fell of the back of a truck on the Jersey Turnpike ;)

Better yet I just called the venue and they said they are not doing any weddings at this time. So not sure who says it is on but it is not were Mixy boy said it was.

Maybe they are making an exception for Mixy. Even the state of New Jersey know that a mix-maniacmachoman event never has more than 10 people attending, and no one dances.

Mix you better hope that no one makes a complaint against the business and cops show up. Last thing you need is a summons and fine, as well as potential confiscation of your equipment. Secondly.,, there’s rumors of some venues secretly holding events, but are making every vendor and guest sign NDA’s... meaning no photos videos or posting about the event... so there goes that marketing opportunity.

finally be prepared to issue a refund. Some venues are acting as if everything is on in hopes of a last minute decision allowing events. If they don’t get the approval they then cancel the event, but that leaves you needing to provide a refund if your contract isn’t iron clad. Be very cautious.

I have a wedding July 25th in PA...Suppose to be indoors. Well, I just saw that the PA governor just put tighter restrictions on gatherings. Venues limited to 25% capacity instead of 50%, and no gatherings over 25 people indoors. The wedding I am suppose to be doing next Saturday has 80 guests with ceremony outside and reception inside. Suppose to have finalization phone call with the couple Monday night. I guess I will find out over the weekend or on Monday if the wedding is still happening or cancelled. It appears outside events can have up to 250 people in PA...Maybe they will attempt to move reception outside as well.

Let me please ask this question because I discussed this with my DJ friend who is older than me and been doing this longer than me. Have you thought about quitting the business because of the situation we're in? I will give my answer later. I got to get some sleep.

Every time I read one of you posts, I think about you quitting.

Not me thinking of quitting. I'm doing what Billy Joel said keeping the faith. Remember nothing last for ever.

Mixy, Don't give up your hobby. Enjoy while you able. Nothing in , nothing out.
Are you doing biz as an DBA or LLC
keeping the faith
faith , complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists.

I'd challenge you to mixing skills but, I think you would beat the snot out of me!

Maybe I would and maybe not. The thing is getting the job and getting others to book you from that job because you did such a great job that some people who attended the event you did and loved what you did.

Let me say this so I don't start another thread. We normally do an event in Branch Brook Park the last Saturday in August. Not sure if the event will happen this year. If it doesn't I have this promoter who wants me to play at a cookout the same day. It's going to be in his backyard where he lives at. Just have to get permission from the husband who owns the place. We'll see what happens. The date is 8-29-20.
