An interesting update from West Virginia on Weddings and Celebrations....

Now i guess if the venue is large enough... a gathering of 100's may be possible?

I just got an excited call from a MOB yesterday over our 5/30 event. The venue owner gave them clearance to hold their event at their facility. They had to cut down their guest list to 90 and I can't imagine having to make those phone calls to un-invite a friend or family member. She said they'd be social distancing so obviously that probably dampens the expected dancing/partying. I'm just glad to be able to get back to business. Hope you guys are seeing the same things.

Ive been reading the local wedding boards on facebook.... brides are saying that venue owners are saying with a wink that they will not be able to enforce social distancing...and its pretty much a free for all.... we will see how long that lasts i guess

I'm interested to see how this one goes down. The venue is owned by a friend of mine (I talked him into jumping in the biz), who happens to also be the Commissioner of Agriculture. He actually had to put the biz in receivership (think that's the term) and obviously he's in a position where he can't stand the Governor down. I'm just excited to be getting back to at least having a chance at working.

Yeah, none of this will be occuring in Washington, D.C. Essentially the same with Maryland as well. Virginia might have hope for weddings occuring in the southern side of it. Northern VA, very unlikely for a long while.

Maryland's phase 2 will only allow for gatherings up to 50 guests, so I just do not see weddings in July, and August happening unless they bring the guests counts down.

My June was totally cancelled out, so I have all my weekends in June free. Weekends in May and June all open. I don't remember what this feels like. Last time I experienced this I was in high school!

Strangely my July 25 called back to get the date back she cancelled quite a while ago. might be wishful thinking on her part we're looking at 50 Max maybe sometime in June

Don't be a hypocrite, be "compassionate," reject the opportunity and save lives.

So when is everyone's next gig? My next one is Aug 8th, but I don't think it's going to happen (all June and July are canceled). I plan on being back at in September if I am lucky.

June 10 through June 22 but, most of these are commencements or town meetings - audio challenges because it's hundreds of people socially distanced across football fields or other open space.

No social events have returned at all yet. MA is still in lock down despite the lip-service given to gradual re-opening.

The most ridiculous thing is the people wearing a mask while driving alone in their car. It's not because their traumatized with panic. These are people who have no true self-identity. The "crisis" becomes their identity. If it's not Covid-19 it's saving the whales, saving the planet, Transgender, or whatever the crisis du jour.

Please give us post gig report. Should be interesting if people feel comfortable enough to gather on the dance floor...

Wow! How many people at your may 30th and June weddings? What are the guidelines where you are? Everyone wearing a mask?

According to MOB, 95 guests expected. She said they will social distance. When I asked her if they wanted me to wear a mask she said "No." Honestly, I have no idea what to expect. I intend to show up and treat it like any other event. I think the June event is small, 50 guests.

If things are open by that time there's nothing hypocritical about it....By the way I fixed your spelling in the quote of hypocrite ;)

I just had one of my Aug weddings canceled. They said people are coming from all over the country and too many people are not comfortable about traveling, so the client doesn't want to have a wedding with half the guests.

So now only 2 weddings in Aug.
