This thing has my attention. 3600 watts (cough cough), yea, peak but still, sounds like they've beefed up the KW181 (and I really like that box). Has anybody actually heard one of these new boxes yet?
I did the 100+ pound sub before .. can't do that anymore. The KW was at least manageable at 88 pounds. If they're sitting still in your barn, then weight isn't much of a factor.
Here is a slight comparison from QSC .. https://www.qsc.com/resource-files/productresources/spk/ks/ks118/q_spk_ks_118_faq.pdf
Yea .. 1 sub would probably be fine .. except I always preferred tops on sub poles over tripods .. now if you fly the Ks ..Even for mobile, I don't have to lift. My old yorkies were too bulky but these units are smaller and would let a pair of top rid on top (strapped down of course). I'd been planning on getting a KW181 (if I ever get un-poor again) but the reviews say that 1 KS118 equals 2 KW181s. Of course at the venue a sub this strong might cause problems with the neighbors. I think (hope) that my current Altos at least wouldn't cause that problem. I think one of these, paired with 2 K12.2s could be a potent rig.

It's Class D mumbo Jumbo .. I bet you can still run 2 subs and 2 tops off a single 15a circuit. If it truly is a 3600w amp, this may require a dedicated circuit. The specs say it's 1 db louder than the KW181 and that the KW181 has been discontinued, so I think this is the replacement for the KW181. 1db louder does not equate to 3600w.
FWIW, I think it's the same price point as the ETX 18-SP, but I think the EV goes lower (more power) - and the ETX is 1800W. Also in the same price point are the Yamaha DXS18 and the JBL SRX218.
Gravity or K&M stands .. that would work.At the venue, the Ks will be flown. On mobile, I'm thinking this guy in front of the booth with tops on those non-tripod stands (forgot what they're called). By next year I went to have one of these and some K12.2s.
I'm not debating that - mathematically, 3600w from a 120v line = 30 amps, so yeah - it is mumbo jumbo. It's Class D mumbo Jumbo .. I bet you can still run 2 subs and 2 tops off a single 15a circuit.

Yea .. it looks like a beefier KW181 .. should be for an additional 20 pounds ..I'm willing to bet they're more like 1800 and likely would only pull a half circuit. The reviews though are all straight 5s and everybody's saying they're an upgrade from the KW181 (which I happen to love).
Ross, what are you replacing it with? I have stopped renting them...
Well, if anyone wants a QSC KW-181 instead of one of the new ones, I'm about to sell mine. It hasn't left my house since October of 2018... which means it's now just taking up room.
What do you want for it?
It’s the second time you brought up the ks subs having 4 wheels on them... you do know the KW subs also have 4 wheels too rightI did this past Saturday. A friend did the party where I won the raffle. It was his first time using the KS 118 subs and I can say they put the KW 118 to shame!!!!!!!! Also they have 4 wheels on each sub. I don't know exactly what he paid for his because he used some gift cards to buy them. I made a joke and told him I would trade him my 801p subs for them. Don't hesitate!
