I thought you all would appreciate the use of gear for some fun at home.

It's our first year in a new neighborhood, we decided to have some fun for Halloween with the house. Unfortunately, they were calling for nasty storms tonight so I didn't want to put a bunch of gear outside. I was planning to uplight the whole front of the house. But I ended up setting up a few lights inside, and my fog geysers slightly hidden right next to my door. They were covered and I figured I could get them cleaned up quick if it started raining.

I wait for kids to get close and hit the geysers right as they arrived at the door.

We didn't have a ton of trick or treaters in the neighborhood but it got a really good reaction from the ones that did come by. They seemed to appreciate something a little different.

I have "animated singing pumpkins" (projected video faces) I have been putting out, but last night we had heavy wind and rain, so I dug out my old dancing/singing skeleton I've had for 25 years .. It did get soaked ..

I didn't take any pics but dug out a couple of my 9X18 uplights and put them against the front of the house and painted it RED. We have a pretty tall house and it lit up the entire front portion by the door. We also had a lot of kids come by last night, even though it just turned cold yesterday afternoon (40 degrees).

What fog geysers did you use? I like the lighting strobe effect when the fog goes off

It's the Chauvet P5. I liked the strobing too... but it wasn't supposed to be doing that.

I'm not sure why it was strobing, but it worked for what I was doing so I called it a happy accident.

One year
I got out the lights, the fog machine, and spider webs....
dressed up in a scary costume...
I played scary sound effects during trick or treat...
and I watched as every kid under the age of 10
avoided my house like the plague.
(they actually crossed the street so they didn't have to walk by)
