This is the part that I cannot wrap my legs around.
I thought it was wrap your head around, but that sounds better.
Actually, if you can get her to wrap her legs around your head...

This is the part that I cannot wrap my legs around.

Jimmy I already said it. This party was not my idea at all. I just came along for the ride. I did so because I've had say a birthday party that he has helped me out with and didn't get paid anything. So I didn't want to start an argument.See Mix here is the problem that I see. You have tried these parties before and you have yet to have a succesful one. So the question is why would you even think about doing another one. Spend the time, energy and money on something else. Promoting parties does not sound like your little groups forte.
... if they are still alive are in their 40's and 50's now.
Mix is doing what he does as a Hobby! He does not care, why should you all. He wants to enjoy himself so he buys what he wants and does what he wants.
I've probably talked to 60-70% over the last 7 years, and it's amazing what you can garner from a live conversation, as opposed to online.
If they decided to do such a thing again if I'm not included in the decisions for that party then I'm out of it all together. They say 2 heads are better then one. With the post card deal you would give some out to family and friends you feel will come to the party. Also you would need to go to places where you see a lot of cars where people party at. Also I would put them on FB and twitter.
Now considering normally the budget wouldn't be big enough to advertise on regular radio. You can use internet radio to advertise your party. You find a internet radio station that will let you play there and as you're playing you can promote your party you're having.
The problem is people don't typically go out to drink on a Sunday evening .. and it's the booze that pays the DJs tab.
Depends on if you're in season in a given area.
Here, it's non stop during season (summer). Bands 6- 7 nights per week at the places on the river. FL is the same during season (winter).
I know many folks (bartenders, wait staff), that will make the drive up northeast for the summer, if they didn't make enough during season in S. FL.
I've found over the last 37 years or so -- you have to be near water to make good cash flow, and good tips.
I just decided as part of the business plan is to stop doing events for people for such a low price.
I suppose if you're in a vacation spot .. but I'm thinking the Oranges in NJ probably aren't.
