Just curious here - do most of you folks know how to write software?

So, I have over a million lines in code alone in RockIt,

What did you do today?

I'm going out to mow the grass at 4:29an.

We're learning and getting comfortable with VDJ, haven't brought it out of the house yet, but that time is coming. We went with it because after going to the Mobile Beat Show in Vegas, VDJ was the easiest program to use, that and they were actually interested in talking to us (unlike the Serato folks).

I use RPM by Gizmo Labs (Jorgen Hedberg). Also currently Beta testing his new program.

I've have some experience with Jorgen[ . I expect we are are a bit on the same page though, but we've never met personally.

I'd like to someday though.

A dedicated RockIt lover and user here. It does what I want simply and easily without any of the fluff and stuff I don't need.

Thanks Rick!

I play ... I have VDJ, PCDJ Red Mobile, Rockit, Serato and Traktor (for the iPad). For what I need, they all do basically the same things. I like Serato, but they dropped support for my hardware a number of revs back. Rockit is as stable as they come and very quick, but I use iTunes to manage my iPad/iPhone and wish to use it to manage my music overall, and Rockit doesn't read the library (though it will read the actual file location.

VDJ and PCDJ are similar and I'm leaning toward VDJ, as PCDJ seems to be moving more toward selling songs.

Since I only used motorized gear > V7, NS7, NS6 > Serato is the only real solution for me. I know it works with VDJ, but does a crappy job with the platters with the amount of MIDI they can handle and respond with.

All others are ruled out on that simple fact.

EDIT: NS6 should not be part of that list.....I wrote all the controllers I actually use, but still, I only use Serato at this point in time.

VDJ all the way! It's easy to use and I'm more of a simpler guy. I don't need all the bells and whistles that are in a software. I do use now a few effects from VDJ itself along with a personal piece that says my playing name so I don't have to get on the mic to tell people who is playing the music at this time. Some people find it amusing and laugh.

I personally don't need the software for special things because I have other tools I use for that.
