Post weekly releases?

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
I don't know why there's an argument here aside from the fact some folks like to argue It's like most things some will like it and some won't but where it's an RSS feed and there's no typing or time involved I say let's do it and for the folks that think it's useless don't look in ;)

Depends on the type of DJ you are and the type of client you are pleasing. I remember working in the club years back I had a friend in Germany sending me 45s long before they were released in Canada by the time they were radio hits I had moved them to the bottom of the pile.

These days it's weddings and such I don't break alot of music anymore and the folks I play for aren't looking for groundbreaking they just want to party

DNS hasn't changed in a good month. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary.

You kids these days have it too easy -- I used to type them in by hand, make the graphics, etc. RSS feeds make you rely on another website, which can slow things down quite a bit, and are not totally reliable.

As Jeff mentioned earlier -- people at weddings aren't looking to hear stuff that hasn't charted yet. I've found they tend to like the music they grew up with, when they first met, etc. I generally do crowds over 35, so they really don't care about new, breaking stuff. Just my humble opinion.


BTW, the errors usually show up early in the morning -- don't get any errors on any of the other sites I frequent. Perhaps the server dude is doing backups or something... Don't know...

I have the server setup to do backups at 3am. I'm rarely up that late anymore but the monitoring service hasn't tipped me off to anything. I do notice our firewall has been self updating quite a bit lately; that could be the culprit although it shouldn't deny access in the process. :-/

RSS Feeds are pretty stable for our purposes. vBulletin grabs the data then posts just like a regular post a member would post. If one site goes down I just replace it with another.

Ironically, Google's results for weekly music releases are mostly spam sites. It looks like I may have to do it manually anyhow.

You were right about the DNS errors. Just got a notice from Google that they were having problems crawling due to DNS failures. I removed the CDN from the mix.
 
i'll be in anything once in a while - even a foursome with 3 blondes if it would help!!!!
