There are advantages and disadvantages to having the two units combines as one. If there is a malfunction then you remain with none while it is in for repairs. If you have two separate units and one goes bad, you still have one left. The weight would be heavier for two combined. More than likely it will require Trussing for best Install.
The regular speaker stands/tripods may not be sturdy enough to support the Dual. A steel lighting stand would be best. When those things are moving they tend to shake the stand/tripod.

Steve says they check in at 18 pounds. My JBL speakers are 60 each and do just fine on a speaker stand.
Less weight means less shake when they are moving.
And I'd bet the time and money and hassle they save by being together,
will far out-weigh any problems should one go bad and need repair.
Besides, you don't have to take the time to program them separately...they work together.

I use my two Moving heads with a sync cable so even though they show the same patterns/Colors the movement is opposite/reverse.

BTW before you all get overly excited, the new Duo is only 10watts, not too bright. It is suitable for the kind of small venues where some of you all play.

I bet they'd go great with the Bose Boombox (AWMS) ..

they were a strong 10 watts,,,, but you also have to take it for what it is,,,,,, you have 2 units in one, for most weddings it would look cool,,,, my thought was 2 of them on my 10 foot trussing with smoke/haze would add a nice touch...... IMHO

10 wats is 10 watts. They may appear bright because they are spots, concentrated. It will be nice to have them centered on a truss with regular single Moving Heads on each side about 15-20 feet from the center. End to end would be 30-40 feet.

I have 2 of the chauvet gobo zoom led 1.0's which have 10w white led's and its just not enough. This unit looks good on the showroom floor with all that haze but put it in a venue with a few windows and the light becomes barely visible. I use the gobozoom's as pinspot now, I remove the gobo and now have a resizable "spot" that has dmx controls for dimming and turning the lamp on and off. Wait until they make this with at least a 60w led. I have a 30w moving head that is ok but brighter is always better.

I play in smaller venues. So that "IS" a reason to for me to get all excited.

So, if a light "appears" to be bright, isn't that just like BEING bright?


Just like many Chauvet products, they'll start with this and improve it if demands calls for it.
I just like the idea of an "all inclusive" light show.
