Usually you will see a Moving Head mounted sitting on the top of a Pedestal style, Truss or on a Truss/Light Bridge, hung upside down. Here is a method I have been using that works for me. I have a pair of Chauvet Intimidator LED 250s. The lights come with a Bracket that has a mounting hole (other than the two that connects it to the light itself). Buy one of these for each light http://www.amazon.com/EB9760-Exterior-Speaker-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B0007SL856 plus a large Bolt, 2 large diameter flat washer,1 matching split washer and 1 nut.
1. Install the bracket to the Light.
2. Starting from the inside of the Light's Bracket Place one of the flat washers then the Bolt. Bolt will go through the washer then the Light bracket.
3. Next insert the end of the Bolt through the Speaker Bracket (There is usually a hole on the top, if not drill one)
4. Secure the bolt with the other flat washer, split washer and then nut. Center unit on the speaker bracket and tighten the nut.
5. You can then put the Moving Head on top of a Speaker stand/Light Stand or Pole. (A heavy duty pole is preferred as the light duty ones tend to wobble just a bit when the Moving head is in fast mode)
The benefits of this kind of install is the elimination of the weight and space for Truss sections and base, a big plus for transportation.

Here are a few pics of mine and the speaker Bracket.

Depending on the M.H. and its mounting holes, one may be able to bypass the M.H.'s Mounting Bracket and mount the M.H. directly to the speaker adapter.

Steven Yes, the CSL Tripod Fixture Mount work great and are so simple. Used on gobo projects to h2o pros to name a couple of fixtures.

I'll be going this route too.... just ordered a couple of Spot 150 Chinese knockoffs.... I saw the CSL mounts too... but at $35 it's a bit spendy imho.

Later I'll add some skrims but, for now I can tuck the stands in behind my facade....

I would not use them just behind a Facade for a couple reasons. Last thing I would want is more objects around my DJ Booth to make me look conspicuous and obstruct the "skyline". Secondly with a spread of 25 feet or more and in Sync those moving heads really look awesome. Unless I am using more than two, I won't have any too close to each other and certainly not behind my Facade. If I had a choice I would use a Totem vs a Scrim as I find them to be ugly and they add more "bulk".

Houston, how do you like the 250's? I am strongly considering picking up a pair.
I really do like them however, my original purchase was 2 350s and I thought that they would be over kill for smaller events (I underestimated how big the average Event venues are here) so I went with the 250s. They are great don't get me wrong but I am going to add something bigger like the 350s, a pair of at least one for the middle. The 350s have a bit more Gobos and effects. It is also though, physically larger and heavier. Hope this helps. I would recommend a Pair of each where that will give you many options. I hope this helps.

Here is another Video on the 250

Just remember .. before you mount the moving head, buy it a nice dinner and spring for a good bottle of wine.
