HEEELLPPP !! Need Help With My Laptop And Mixer

Hi Guys And Girls,

ive just got myself a new amp and when i plug my charger into my laptop there a very loud buzzin sound coming through may speaker, but when i unplug the charger the sound is amazing no buzzing nothing.

what can i do to stop the buzzing cause as u should know i need my charger lol
please help me!

Most Likley its a ground hum form your laptop charger. I had that problem once and cut the ground prong off of the charger cable.

Try running your laptop on battery power alone and see if that hum goes away.

If it does, the adapter is the answer.
 
As others have said it is probably the power adapter for your laptop. Also try a different outlet in your house. Sometimes when I go to a gig and get the hum, if I swap to my backup power adapter for my laptop the hum is gone... not all things are wired the same, and /or the quality of some of the components in the adapter could be different.

Oops my bad... I use a power conditioner in my rack and haven't had a hum issue since... Don't go removing grounds or adaptors that eliminate ground like mentioned above. If you can't afford a good power conditioner try pluging the laptop into a different outlet from the amp. Preferably a separate circuit all together.

Yes, it does. I had the problem with an HP computer and that took care of it.
 
Perhaps the transformer (?) on the laptop plug is too close to the rest of the gear, and is picking up the noise.

You should not be DJing if you dont use a power conditioner...and a good one, at that! I always used my Furman for my sound and just some Power Sentry surge protector strips for my (led) lights. Setting up for a gig this summer at our local Holiday Inn...plugged in my (2) PS strips and they MELTED! The Furman was not phased by the same power source. Lesson learned. I now carry a dedicated Furman for sound and one for lights.
