I think it came out today.

Anyway, I like Taylor Swift and so do my daughters, and we all HATED it. Like never want to hear it again kinda hate.

I don't know if I have the exact name right, but it is something like "We're Never Ever, Ever Getting Back Together".

I sure hope that this isn't representative of the better stuff on the album.

Papa Deuce - If you're doing Bubble Parties, I suspect you will have a lot of kids asking for it in the coming weeks. I love a lot of Taylor's songs much better, but this one is a HUGE sing-a-long. It will absolutely go over with the girls at elementary school dances. It is just way too singable, and probably a good way for girls who feel jilted (or are pretending to their friends they've been jilted) to blow off some steam.
It's # 1 out of the box at Radio Disney.
As for me, I like it, and I like the fact that it has a more Contemporary Hit Radio beat than some of her previous singles. I do believe she has a more Country style version as well.

I NEVER have requests at bubble parties. They are set up to be run in a certain order. And only songs that I pick are played at the events. It wouldn't work with the kids I do bubble parties for.... usually ages 4 - 6.

I dont think I have had one request for any of her songs, all summer. She has made a few decent tunes but none have really stuck with me or been big requests. The few times they get requested, its generally a little girl asking. That new abomination (Never Ever...) is the worst thing (lyrically) to come along since the FRIDAY song.

Her songs are no better or worse than any other pretty little singer that has passed thru on her way to obscurity.

I will give her credit for:

1- writing her own songs
2- not getting arrested for DUI
3- not appearing in pictures topless, panty-less, naked, or pregnant

The difference is, IMO, she's going to be here a long time yet.... I hope so, anyway, but with better songs than the one I wrote this post for.

She's in that space between youth and adult and seems to be exercising some creativity to try and meld some genres. Some will work, some won't .. But for a 22 year old having 3 albums each go at least 4x Platinum and having sold about 20 Million albums, I'd say she's done an awful lot right and expect as much in the future.

Not aware of any current artists with MORE talent than her.

cant discount the numbers but like many artists I feel they are built up with minimal talent.

Hell yeah!
They are after "the look" first.
If they can actually back it up with talent, that's a bonus!

his talent is marketing and innovation he didn't have a gifted voice to begin with but money can buy really good lessons. I just don't feel Taylor's got a strong rich voice. She is cutesie in some peoples eyes I suspect and can write songs which is a bonus these days but pure powerful vocals aren't her strength.

You may, but I would not agree, even remotely.

Well, let's see.....

was a DJ.

plays all types of music... far more than Taylor Swift

Also multi platinum artist

Draws way more fans that aren't teen girls.

And, IMO, while drastically different in what they write about, he is a superior songwriter.

To each their own .. and I'm not a big Taylor fan (nor Kid Rock) .. I just have to acknowledge her abilities. I won't get into who's the better songwriter as we appear to be on opposite sides there. BTW, he's had 18 more years to experiment ...

If you haven't seen her latest concert video, you probably miss the fact that this young lady can really put on a show. She produced it, meaning she got the right people under her, gave them her ideas, and made all the final decisions about staging, arrangements, costumes, musicians, equipment, transitions, etc. It's an amazing show.
