Hey Gang,

My wife and I were filmed as the 4th wedding in one of these episodes in AZ. We're waiting to hear from the TLC producer on when this is supposed to air...either late June or July is what she was guessing. I'll keep you posted.

Sadly, I've watched that show alot and not many times is the Dj even included in any footage.

I've seen only one of the shows and I agree with you on that. But....the TLC producer mentioned that they are going to add something to the winner's video section...a "if you want a wedding like the winner, you can contact her vendor's" section. Not sure if it was going to be at the end of the show or online only. But either way, it's a good deal. In addition, the wedding was for one of the local tv traffic girls here in town. We're also going to be featured in Phx Bride Magazine later in the year and various other places.

I hope it works out well for you. I'm not trying to rain on your parade.

Can I ask; did you get your full fee? Can you disclose that info?

You didn't Randy. It was a cool experience either way. All but $75 that we're still owed for doing a 1/2 hour overtime. They tried to get us to discount but that wasn't going to happen. Still the same amount of work for us.

That's even better. I've read where these shows drum it up as they're doing us such a great favor to use our service because of the advert, that we should do it for free or at least a huge discount.

I just saw an episode of Four Weddings Canada where you could see the DJ's set-up in the background during the first dance and OMG, what a mess! He had wires everywhere running down and looping around the back of his set-up. If there was anybody that should be using a facade it would be that guy. The scary part is, I am sure he was bringing his A-game, to his standards anyways.

Please post the date (when you know), so we can tune in. I have viewed a few of these shows, NEVER seen the DJ appear (more than a brief shot) in any episode. Its almost as if the DJ is an unspoken, 'necessary evil'! I think we all know better.

I too have seen some shoddy set ups and low end gear on some of these televised gigs. Anyone see the Restaurant Impossible/Wedding Impossible episode? It was about the wedding of Chef Robert, the host. This was a high end event, with plenty of famous people attending. They show the DJ and his gear in a few passing shots...one lone pair of JBL Eons, on sticks. Had a good chuckle at that. If I got hired for that sort of gig, I would make every possible attempt to upgrade my gear...pronto.
