OK, So I'm thinking of making an All USA Made system

I don't have an issue with non-US gear (I have a lot), but since I will be trimming down my live sound system, and planned on replacing it anyway, I figure I might as well try to see if this is possible today.

Can I get a mixer, amps+speakers (or active speakers), processing and such all made in (or at minimum assembled) in the good 'ol USA?

I tried finding a list of pro-audio manufacturers and products still made in the US and couldn't find a list. Here are the possible building blocks I guess .. add to it any US/Canada/Mexico made or assembled gear (I guess I'll stick with the NAFTA clan).

Others? Any microphone manufacturers?
 
You should make it a North American System. Canada makes some fine speakers and I don't mean only Yorkville.

Not really. American labor is not cheap, and most of the parts are coming from across the ponds.

I'd probably do it myself, but you'll incur a good deal of expense, plus your time. May last you a lifetime, but I doubt there'd be any resale value on it, unless you start a company, and brand it.
 
Well, we're building up. I can get speakers, amps, and maybe an EV mic. Mixer will probably need to be Rane. Processing probably Rane or Ashly. This will be costly xf:D.
 
Read the fine print carefully: Most EV microphones are "Designed and Supported" in the USA, but made elsewhere.

Don't forget to add EAW to your list of American brands.

I think that will take me out of an expected budget, but I will certainly look.

As to budget, my initial hope would be around $7500 for speakers/subs/amps/mixer/processing. That gives me roughly $5K for speaker/subs/amps or similar actives and $2K for the basic electronics.

Anyone know of a US CD player maker? or corded/cordless Mic (if the EV is not)? Canadian and Mexican accepted as North American. It's the small stuff that I might not be able to get.
 
Looks like I can get a NAD (Canada) CD player as a backup ... not quite pro duty, but I bet it sounds good.

I believe those newer low-priced ones are made abroad like the ZXa1 and ZXa1 subs. The prior expensive microphones were probably Made in USA.

Yeah, most of their products were USA-made up until when they were acquired by Bosch. Since then, things have changed.
 
Been there, done that: Rane MP44 mixer, numerous Crown amps all made in USA, and older JBL SR-X series speakers also made in the USA. Sounds GREAT if I don't mind saying so myself!

You CAN do it. :)
