WTF!?!?!?!?!? No Macarena? ;)

You missed The Harlem Shuffle

I picked "Shout" because it has lasted so long.
So has The Twist, but there is no creativity involved.
Shout has as many variations as there are people who dance to it.

Back in the mid 80's (85-86 I'm thinking), the Electric Slide came into the big time as a cult thing at colleges. Since we were surrounded by colleges, my future wife and I used to hit all the college clubs. So we go to this club in Poughkeepsie one weekend, and the DJ put the song on.

I didn't recall ever having heard it before. The entire room jumped into the dance floor (this was a huge club), and proceeded to wow the hell outta me. It's like they had been practicing it for years. They were like in perfect time!

I found the record soon thereafter and started using and teaching it. That was a good money maker, and fun dance -- people would go to certain clubs because they played it a couple times a night.

The Twist done with one foot on the ground, two feet on the ground, Hands in the air, hands at their waist, twist done standing up and down low to the ground.

If this was aimed at me, Cesar...you misunderstood me.
With the Twist, everyone seems to do it exactly the same way (just as you described it)...
while the people who dance to Shout follow the basic idea, but add their unique flare!

I am 48 years old and I've been doing this for 30-years.
I am QUITE well versed in the art of the twist.
