Suggestion for light controller

One cable to the 1st device then a daisy-chained cable to the 2nd (most fixtures have a DMX in and DMX thru).
Ahhhhhh! I was also told that with the Hardware Controller the scenes cannot be saved is this correct? Each time you setup you have to start from scratch.
Don't know .. haven't received it yet, so haven't had a chance to play. Lights (Chauvet 4play) and controller expected by the beginning of the week. Got a Revo 4 as well.
The Revo 4 is nice, I have it. A companion/alternate for it is the Chauvet Vue 3.1, I have that as well.
I would think that DMX will work well if one has all their lights on one tree or on a truss bridge. As it is I have my lights on Speaker/Lighting Stands so they are usually about fifty feet apart. With DMX I will have to go from my console to one side upwards then downwards and across upwards to the other side. I think that Wireless will be the way for me to go or a truss with bridge.
We'll get there at some point. This was a basic startup to do a karaoke gig. The Obey 40 seemed like just enough capability at a good price. Above that I would look at one of the computer interfaces. I don't expect to go beyond it's limits for a while.
I know what you mean. My plan is to go with ShowExpress plus wireless transmitter/receivers but I may do that when I add some moving heads.
Obey 10, 40, 70 are full scene controllers with memory. I'm guessing you are thinking of the RGB only Obey 3 & 4 that don't have memory settings.
I have Freestyler loaded on my Laptop and the "dongle" for connecting to Laptop and DMX cable. At the moment I am using all in stand-alone mode, static color for Uplighting. But, I have used the ETL Flat Par Pros in a 4-bar configuration on a T-bar. Also, linked two T-bar of FPP in Master/slave mode. I have a 50' xlr cable that I use to connect them which puts them about 30 feet apart.
I'm planning on getting a Revo 4 at some point down the road. I have a couple of Vue I that I sometimes add to a T-bar.
Instead of purchasing the Revo 4, I got a used MBT Spinning Star which does a great job of the mirror ball affect. I modified the base of the Spinning Star so that it could be mounted on a Truss end pole like you would a speaker. Raise it 10' in the aire and let it fly...but only for short 2-3 minute bursts because of the halogen bulb...it's not LED. Unfortunately, I'm not to impressed with the results. I'm looking at modifying it so that it hangs down instead of up. It is really meant for a permanent ceiling install.
I may look at designing some kind of rig so that the platform can be attached to the ceiling runners (suspended ceiling) only. I travel with a DJ trailer, so carrying a ladder isn't a problem ("Little Ladder"). But still, when you are a single operator time is your enemy.
The real eye-catcher for me is when I switch on the Blisslight 15 above the dance floor. The Blisslight 15 projects a wavy blue cloud w/green lasers that look like stars on the ceiling above the dance floor. And when the room is dimly lighted, it looks beautiful.
As soon as I get my new Laptop, I will use the current one as backup and run Freestyler from it.

Mount it facing outwards in other words with its base attached to the pole vertically.
Houston...thanks for the idea. I've got to see about how It can be mounted to the tuss leg. Hmmmm. Have to think and tinker a bit.
