Agreed, all passive here too, never saw a ton of advantage to powered speakers still have to run a cable to them and then find an outlet near where they are set up too.

I know this thread is a little old and I'm brand new to this forum (though I have 20+ years dj exp.), but I had to register to say something...
I have been reading this forum for about 2 months now and thoroughly enjoy some of the threads, especially compared to the other forum I read before (hosted by that magazine that throws a party in Vegas every Febuary)...my hope here is that the somewhat snobby attitudes on the other site can stay there and maybe everyone over here can actually learn from asking questions...not trying to be all can't-we-all-get-along here, but I am still trying to learn from everyone's mistakes and triumphs.
btw, I do think the system in the pic looks a bit sloppy, I don't like the EON's (EV livex for me,until the Dynacords), and I just bought the quad phase to add to my light bar, so I hope it's good. I do spread my speakers out as far as I safely can because I think it sounds better, I use gaff tape (dang that stuff is expensive!), and I'm still refusing to use a computer (even though I'm sitting next to a brand new $980. Dell laptop that my kids are presently playing games on)...Bottom line though...the couple looks happy in the pic and isn't that our goal at the end of the day???

wow Gaz thanks for making one think. Duh the happy client is 100% and other DJ opinion 0% always!I play the tug o war games with the DJ know it alls constantly and am not every DJs favorite but I know what my efforts result in and sleep well knowing my approval rating is stellar cause I work very hard at what I do. Almost 40 yrs speaks something.te
btw Jon, I still can't figure out the coat, but you seem to be 100% Dynacord...are they really worth the extra $$ over my EV livex 15's?...also, I just wanted to be part of your 22,000th post!!!...that's a lot of opinions you put on here
