Very nice ,proof that Peavey still know its shiz. That sub is a hungry speaker. The CS4000 only meets its required power. For headroom the 4080 would be preferable.

Ah, Peavey.... my first set of DJ speakers..... in 1990.... and guess what? They are still in use today.... I sold them to another DJ. And after 10 years he gave them to his son to DJ, and he still uses them.

I always saw Peavey as more of a sound reinforcement company for musicians than D.J.'s. I played on the road for years with bands and everyone had some type of peavey gear with them. I used to use an sp12 with a black widow woofer as a stage moniter for my drum set up. They were based out of Nashville TN and had a built in market with the music biz being there. It's funny though, all the D.J.'s I know never considered them for their rigs. Everyone always went the EV / Mackie / JBL route. I know one guy who uses Carvin and swears by them. Peavey builds a good product, but I never saw much of them in D.J. circles.

Steve Miller (Thunder) has been running Peavey rigs for DJ and karaoke for many years. He swears by the brand and won't use anything else.

Until maybe a decade or so back, Peavey wasn't marketing to DJs. The fact that you couldn't buy Peavey online in those days didn't help either. But they've got into the DJ market in a big way since, with product offerings for DJ use. Peavey had a booth at the AC convention when we were there, years ago.

Those tops are no bigger than the size that lots of DJ use. The Subs.....same thing. The difference is in the High Power, Price and Design.

Hey, Jon, you don't want that set-up. It is VERY picky about how to tune it. If not done correctly, the ribbon drivers will blow very easy.

currently, everything we use except for our mixer and crossover is Peavey...and we could not be happier...now granted it is the mid level stuff and not the beast stuff like this lol

The multi op I used to work for uses Peavey. Never had an issue except that stuff was heavy. lol
