thinking of scanners

After my recent prom on May 6th....I realized I could really use some scanners!
I just finished re-working my lighting rig, and I think I found some space for a pair.
Theses are my feelings, thoughts, preferences:

I loved the original Chauvet Intimidators 1.0, small, light, simple auto-sound function.
But they are real hard to find these days, even on EBay.
I prefer the regular lamps over the LED's for scanners, never did like the "dancing dots".
I am not going DMX with them, I do not need a thousand colors or a boat load of gobo's
I just want something that will scan the room.
But I do need them to be small, and light.

and (surprise, surprise) I don't wanna spend a lot o' cash!
 
recently here in Mississauga a DJ is selling one Acrobat(the ultimate single unit) mint for 300. Raptor for less an the SCX 500 dual scanners for 7 bills. I am sold on Martin fixtures and these are awesome.

I have some of the Intimidator 1.0's and love 'em! I like my Martin's better but these are right behind them! I also prefer regular lamps to LED.

I agree. I have a couple too. They're not the smoothest but they are generally priced good.

yeah, I was lookin' at the ComScan's...pretty close to the Intimidators.

even used at a FRIGGIN AWESOME price is probably a bit much for me.
I love Martin lights, too....but my budget HATES them!

Make me an offer! I didn't pay an arm and a leg and wouldn't charge u too much either;)

Seriously tho - if you like the intimidators, you'd LOVE the MX4's! I think they're a bit heavier, but a much nicer light. They're a bit longer too. 4 Intimidators fit into a Gator Accessory bag (with cables and clamps) nicely.

Ben, he's looking for regular bulb intimidators vs the led's. Like me, he's not a fan of the led. It's that whole 'dot' thing.
 
I'm a checkin'! What's the difference between the 100 and 200? Is there a multicolor (I loved that on the intimidator 1.0's)?

Just a thought - could you put an LED bulb in an intimidator 1.0 (or any other fixture for that matter)?
 
They do look great. Unfortunately, the ones I have are free (I already bought 'em) and these will have to wait til I can pony up the fundage.
