Saturday we're contracted to do a prom for large school, there will be about 1,000-1,100 kids in attendance. We've never been to this particular school, it was a referral from another one of the schools we do. Today, the lady in charge send an e-mail to confirm everything and states " Oh, by the way don't bring any lighting because we've hired an events company to handle that, we just want your dj and a little bit of sound". Now....first of all they paid for a full prom package, it includes a minimum of 10 lighting fixtures and 3 video screens. So we explained to her what we do because she obviously was confused, and she says the dj they used to have only brought in small speakers and 1 light! For 1,000 kids! So i call the event company and they are doing uplighting, and Putting up a couple elipsoidals with Star Gobo's...that's it! No Moving Lighting. We the contact at the school back and she says she'll have to check with the kids because they wanted to keep their prom elegant! Our Lighting and video is a large part of why so many schools want us. I've never done a school dance without it. What would you do?
