Does anyone here know anything about these New EV 112 X Live 2 ways Cabs.
Going to trade up from my current Cabs. I'll Be useing these with Current Amp QSC GX3.
As Im lookin at the weight and size. I have no room for anything bigger in My Motorhome.

There are a few people on here with Live X cabs. Because you said you'll be using them with an amp, I shall assume you're talking about the passive speakers. Ben / Kat (NLFX) from here should be able to give you alot of info about them. Not sure who on here would have the passive version of the Live X. I think most of us jumped on the active versions.
 
Yes Sir passive is what I Need. All ready read the specs. so im sure my QSC GX3 should run them just fine. Was just wanting to know who owns them here. And Yea or Nay. in reguards to buying a pair. Thanks
 
I just got the actives week before last. Incredible speaker and I already posted a review on them. The summarize, extremely clean and plenty loud. On my first outing with them, I ran them with a powered sub. They peaked pretty easy in full range mode but in sub mode, those dudes kicked all night. The best sound I've been able to get to date.
 
Im going to be gaining 4 of the 112's passive along with 8 fill monitors for my upcoming pub venue one floor will also have the 18 Live X sub. running EV amps up and down. I will b e taking pics of the progress in upcoming weeks.
 
GX5 is the model of the QSC amp he speaks of or one of the mid-level light weight amps from Crown. The OP asked about a QSC GX3.

Yup what I was saying was to step up to a qsc gx5 or a crown xti2500 for example.... if weight isn't an issue I'd choose an ev q99 personally.
 
The problem I have with some amps is that they require a dedicated 15 amp circuit - just for the amp. For us mobile guys, sometimes all we have is a single 15 amp circuit - let alone a secondary (which is in my contract).
 
I'm actually now thinking of getting a couple of Active 112s AND Passive 112s. I will likely get the active 112p speakers to replace my Eon G2 15s (Black) and will get the passive 112s within about 3 months. I wonder how they will sound in comparison to my current G2s?

May I ask why passive 112's?
 
GOOD QUESTION!!! I have 2 Crown XTI 2000 amps and 3 turbo sound subs. I want to overlap equipment but not too much, ya know for back up purposes.

Small system = 2 EV ELX112P
Back up = 2 EV ELX112 w/Crown xti 2000

Med-Large System = 2 EV ELX112P and Crown xti 2000 w/1 turbo sound 18 or 2 turbo sound 18s
Back up = 2 EV ELX 112 w/crown xti 2000 and Crown xti 2000 w/1 turbo sound 18 or 2 Turbo Sound 18s

Large-Huge System = 2 EV ELX112P and 2 EV ELX112 w/Crown xti 2000; 2 CW C36 earthquakes on 1 Crown XTI 2000 bridged Mono @ 4ohms
No Back Up = :(

I may get another amp, say a Crown XTI 1000 as the amp for the passive 112s, but I don't want to be like my friend who has great equipment but about 8-10 amps and 10-12 speakers/subs. I need all of my equipment to do double duty when necessary AND be backups for some systems (total of 7 speakers/subs as I will get rid of 2 subs and my EON G2s). If I got the XTI 1000 I could use both of my 2000s to power each Earthquake. If one of them gave out on me I could get by with 1 but would rather have 2.

For me the ROI and cost-benefit ratio have to be right otherwise it makes no sense to have so many speakers/subs unless I plan to do those types of shows. The largest shows for me are my proms, which get up to about 700 people max.
 
Would it be better to get 4 112P's? I have an Xti-2000 too. I power 2 Peavey Precision Pro 115 cabs reloaded with BW drivers. Also powers 2 Peavey SP2's. I also have a Behringer 1500 and a Peavey 3500.

My main and backup plans for most venues are currently (2) 112P's, (1) or (2) 118P's with QSC K12's on standby.

Where I can't have this configuration, it'll be (2) PPro 115's or SP2's with EV ZX1's on backup duty.
