Time for a new topic.

What does your basic system contain, equipment wise. Basic as in what would you provide for an average room, average show.

My basic system currently is a CMX-3000 and Itch running through a DJM-3000 into a pair of QSC K12's. The system is also equipped with a Sennheiser wireless handheld and headphones are Technics. I generally have a light or two with me too. Vertigo or something similar.

My most basic system is Hercules RMX/Laptop/Virtual DJ
Amp rack with 2 amps and processing and cordless mics
2 tops and one sub.

Rackmount PC, VDJ, small mixer, dual 31 EQ. (2) Ex-hard drives and 5 TB of on board storage.

Goes to system processor, to (4) QSC PLX II & QSC PL 236 Amps, to (2) Bi Amped tops And (2) double 18's.

That is my everyday git-er-done rig. I can double the speakers if needed, And not carry any more processing or amps.

My most basic system consists of:

2 JBL EON G2 15"
2 Pioneer CDJ800 cd players
1 Pioneer DJM400 mixer
1 MacBook Pro 15" w/Serato SL1
1 Driverack PX
1 BBE Sonic Maximizer
1 Shure wireless SM58
1 Digital Reference mic
1 Monster Power 900 power conditioner

What some use on a regular basis is less than basic!

Why a speaker management system for only tops?

Why a speaker management system for only tops?

The driverack has feedback suppression, compressor/limiter and a cross-over to name a few. I like to have more system control relative to loud singers and the frequency of bass I want them to handle. I think that the feedback suppression speaks for itself.

I haven't even started using the built in EQ yet...LOL

Not to hijack the thread but I will be doing much the same with what I'd call, at the present time, my most basic setup but with a DRPA

This Saturday it will be:

Laptop running VDJ & Karma
Denon HD2500 for VDJ control
Behringer 1204FX mixer for mic mixer
Denon X500 mixer to a DRPA
2x EV TourX 15's
QSC RMX 2450

Which for this party is still waaaaaaaaaaay overkill

Later I hope to add back in for small events & Ceremonies my EV ZXA1's and later add a set of LiveX 112P for mid-sized events.

Don't start brutha, don't start. It's whatever gets the job done man. Work smarter, not harder. You with your Bose boombox (no jab intended) should understand that. Use the right gear for the right scenario.

Knowing how to do that and do it WELL speaks just as much, if not MORE of a pro than someone who shows up with two laptops, 24 spaces of gear, 4 tops, and two folded subs for a backyard BBQ.

I'm with Precision on this and I don't use 2 folded horns I use 4 :D:D:D:D:D

I like the ZX1's but they're a bit small for small shows. I carry them for backups and they can rock as a backup. I've also used them for a small area for announcements.

Agree completely. But keep in mind, we're talking about basic systems. If his basic system is an am/fm radio, then so be it.
