I'm looking for the best ideas for transporting your gear, the simplest and most effective gear setups that are quick and basic but yet work well for, let's say, wedding receptions.

I use rock n roll cart 10, L1 model 2, laptop, t1 mixer, wireless mic, vertigo for lighting, and blizzard pucks for uplighting sometimes. Everything fits easily on cart. One trip in, 15-20 set up and the same for tear down.
Behind the facade is a laptop stand that raises it off the table, the t1 and a wireless mic.

I've used a compact for 2 weddings. They were small weddings. One was an afternoon wedding with 40-50 people. The other was a dry wedding with 70 people and they said that they didn't expect much dancing. The compact does get used a lot for other parties. December 4th, I'm doing a company party for a Hair solon. This is my 4th year for them. 45 people. Just bring in a computer, a mic, and the compact. Don't even use the cart for that one. 5 min set up and tear down. For me, that's the lightest system I've ever used.

My coffin case certainly isn't light! Outside of that though, I use the Rock n Roll Cart R12 - and am able to transport everything in one trip for a wedding. I put the coffin case down first, my facade, k12 speakers, my bin for uplighting and bin for cords, two speakers stands and off I go.
Only time it stinks is when there are stairs!
Having used the Bose system, I will say the portability is amazing. The small footprint it leaves is fantastic and the weight is next to nothing! If weddings were my only focus, that's the direction I'd go.

I take my Odyssey case geared with the Denon 900 mix,4500 Decks and HD2500 Which rests on a Podium trifold stand , A 4 foot table, tripods for VL262 Dynacord tops and a Dynacord Powersub. One Acrobat and the 4Bar with tripod to most gigs. The footprint is actually smaller than most other setups to include the Bose system. I can go even smaller footprint and lightweight if I simply use the CDMIX2 Numark system versus the Denon in the Odyssey as it is a fair amount heavier.
I too, have been trying to get my system load-in and set up time down. The least amount of time I can get is 30 minutes. That is, starting at the time I drive up to the building, until the time I'm ready to go. Most halls in my area have stairs. I bought a 4Bar light to help cut back on time and it helps.
Scott, what's a T1 mixer? Curious...

I will look for a pic of that. If I can't find one, I'll take one next set up.
The T1 gives me full mixer capabilities, great effects, awesome sound card, great preset "scenes" so depending on what i am using it for, all the eq's for each channel is set. All in something thats about as large as my hand.
I've seen some DJs on the equipment forum say they don't like the fact that it's not rack mountable. I like the size and don't want anything bigger just to make it rack mountable.

My "Mini" fits into a 4 door Saturn SL. However, if you gave an example wedding SIZE, I would better be able to match a light system with it...
John, sure will. Thanks for the call. T1 is Bose, and was designed to work with the L1 systems.
Will it work with other systems? Yes, but I don't know anybody that has used it with other gear. I'd be interested to hear from someone that has.
I use an B-52 Matrix-2000 for my sound system, and for lighting I use 1 ultimate telelock stand with 4 lights.
I use an 2 wheel dolly to carry all the other cases and speaker stands in. I can haul the 2 wheel dolly and matrix in at the same time, then I go and get the light stand for my second trip. By the way I have all of my lights mounted on the telelock and never take them off. The whole system can up and running in about 20 mins.:tribiggrin:

Hanks is likely going to be the hands down lightest ever unless someone shows up with an all in one controller and a pair of EV-ZX1's on sticks.
