James,

You may want to consider filling in the rest of your member profile. Perhaps there is another member or more in your area that could assist you in person or point you to some local vendors and resources.

A little hands on experience can go a lot further than a shopping list and suggestions.

The 'Search' function is also a great tool.

We're not a bad bunch here and generally help out, but we also have been burnt several times helping the younger, teen DJ. In fact, there are other dj boards more suited for your age that may be of interest to you. Give Google a whirl and see what turns up.

It also goes a long way when you try to use proper grammar, punctuation, etc....we'd have to have to get DJ Ducky after you. ;) I realize you are growing up in an age where it's deemed not too important, but you'll find most of us old foggies still like to read an actual sentence structure.

Most DJ's don't use turntables anymore. They like skip and stuff. Also you can't download your music for free. LOL!!

In all seriousness Welcome to ODJT. If you would like to spin finding asome help from fromone near your would be your best start. I also know there are a number of forums that are dedicated to Club Style DJ's

I believe this member is in the UK. Look Up Wavy Davy in Plymouth he might know a good mentor for you. I would go to the club and pick the jocks brain there ya might get in by helping tote some crates.

First of all I'm from Dublin lol and also dj cam when did I ever say I download music for free ???!!!!! You probably do!...and really I was just looking for the name of a set that would be suitable for me? Also I really don't think grammar and punctuation is nessacery or relevant here!! Thanks

my bad. I thought that Sterling was an English currency. Was only attempting to help locate your demographics. Carry on. Others can handle it from here.

Its is ...i will be orderong from uk and Sorry I didn't mean to sound rude! Thank for taking the time to help anyway! Thankyou :)

Sorry but I don't know it all that's why I was asking for help ! I realize most people on here have a lot of experience and I respect that. I was quite put off by being told by dj cam that I can't download music for free when I never mentioned this! I didn't mean to waste peoples time and come across as rude and I appreciate the advice. Thank you

Note my smilies....take my comments with a grain of salt.

In Cam's defense, we've seen it time and time again with teens downloading everything from Limewire and then coming here to get all the free help to get them up and running, making a whopping $50 a gig.

You'll need some thick skin to hang with the gang here. ;)

Grammar and punctuation is important everywhere.... even on a chat board. If we can't understand the question, we can't offer helpful answers.

A perfect case of stereotyping it appears to me....

To hell with the haters!!

If I had one piece of advice it would be to by second hand (used) gear. Do they have Craigslist where you live?

Also, try DJforums dot com if you want to talk to real DJ's that can mix it up.:tricool:

I re-read Cam's post. Did you see the "LOL" at the end, followed by "in all seriousness" and a welcome?

I think you're overreacting.
