Saw in a thread a few weeks ago where someone had a light set up with 4 light on the top and 4 on the bottom. Can't remember the name of the set up.

Any one know what I am talking about? I think they were all rectangle shape.

Thanks.

Karl,

Is the the Chauvet 4-Bar, 4-Play combination?

That could be it. The pic I seen had them both on one stand. Could you do that with these?

yes they are designed to compliment and work on the same tripod. A really cool effect I am considering the 4Play as I already own the 4Bar

Thanks Karl for bringing up the subject of double duty.

I'm thinking about using a t-bar with two 1/2 bars; Parcans (4) on the bottom of the cross-T with a Omnisistem LED Strip 252 on top.
Two special effect lights on the 1/2 arms, one on each.

But now that I've seen the two lights that were recently posted, I think those would be worth purchasing.

Yes,

The 4-Play mounts under the 4-Bar & it's an all-in-one lighting system.

Keith,

Thank you for posting the pic from my wedding a couple of weeks ago. This was the first time I used this setup since getting it in AC.

All told, you should be able to get both pieces for around $538.....

Since this photo was taken, I'm using this as our "Basic Lighting package". Takes around 5 minutes, if that to set up. I'll take it a step further and dress the pole/base with a DJ skirt/pole combination. Just makes it a little neater, IMHO. Thinking about a Scrim King to see what that would do for the look.

Cheers,

Joe

Joe I like the bottom skirt but the one on the pole part looks like a hair scrunchy my daughters name for them. I prefer to velcro strap it as it looks much cleaner in my Dishonest opinion.

I never liked the look of the steaker stand drapes...
looks like something melted

Thats why I love this site
I can proudly state what I think, and no one will oppose me.
Unless my speakers aren't far enough apart!

Joe, where did you see them for that price? Looking around, I can only see them for separate prices. $399 for the 4 bar and $199 for the 4 play.

Karl you live in Mini Soda why not call Ben?????? You might get a great price and help Mini Soda economy as well.

I couldn't find both on Ben's site doing a search for them. After I posted I went back and just looked under Chauvet and they were there. The only way Ben doesn't get my biz if he doesn't have something.

Karl revelation time. Ben carries alot more than is maneuverable on his website. New gear comes into his offerings daily and the site might not be the first place to look. The 800 number is there for the opportunity for one to simply ask and get the current info versus a huge site such as theirs.

I like to research online before calling. As I won't be purchasing until after the first of the year, no need to call yet. And I have Ben's cell and NLFX # programmed in for emergencies. lol

Ok,

I know I got the "Sad face" from Kat when I bought them at the AC Expo - from a competing dealer - I forget who was selling Chauvet at the show.

But that was the total price I got them for at the show.

:trisad:

But if I had to do it over, I would have bought them from Kat. But since then, I think I've made it up to her. :)

Call Kat. She'll get you their best price, I'm sure.

Joe,How do you like that setup so far?

Like it?

I love it! We've decided to include this as our "Basic Lighting Package" for events. Only takes maybe 5-10 minutes to install, and is perfect for those 50-200 guest parties. I wonder if it would be worth hooking up a 2nd 4-Bar...but for most events, 1 is plenty (that I've seen).

I was on the fence before about getting this system- I would bring out a pair of ADJ Punch Pros & an Acrobat, with a Martin Freekie DMX controller for my small light show. It would take 10-15 minutes to get that all unpacked, setup, etc. But now, those pieces are sitting in the garage.

If someone wants a bigger light show, then they'll get the DMX fixtues - 2 punch pros, 1 Acrobat, and 2-4 SCX 500 scanners. But they'll be paying more for it too, ;)

Cheers,

Joe

This pic shows what I use for lights. I have never been a big light guy and now a days, at least around here, venues have all these white Xmas light hanging everywhere that the rooms don't get dark enough like they used to. So lights have always been an after thought for me.

But mine are getting beat up and I want something new. When I saw this I thought it would be a nice easy set up and I could still use some of my plug and play lights if I wanted to very easily.

I think this is the route I am going to take.

And speaking of light in a venue, this one last week was at a winery and the building used to be a horse arena. These lights looked cool but they were too bright.
