Already on it at work. ;) AND LOVE IT.

After roughly 20 years working in IT, and more than a quarter of a century working with computers in general - it's nice to have a computer that 'just works'.

And between OS X and Parallels running in a VM I have very few apps I can't run since I don't do any games on the computer any more.... (that's what consoles are for!).
 
What do you think is underpowered on it Rick. All we will be putting on it is the DJ software, no other programs will be running on it at any time, and we will never be hooking it up to the net.

I have two machines running basically the same config, one netbook (XP), one touchscreen (Win7) -- both are essentially dogs...

They can play music just fine, but the overall performance is very slow, in good part due to the graphics processing (or lack thereof). Screen updates are painfully slow, which has the effect of slowing down the entire system. The CPU is used for much of the graphics work, which ties it up when it is needed for important things (and the Atom's are not speed demons to begin with).

For about the same price, or a little more, you can actually get a real laptop, with a normal dual core processor, and can expand it a bit...
 
I have (or used to have) a Pentium II 400 MHz. My fiance bought me Diablo II and I was struggling to get it to run. I went and picked up a cheap graphics card that was on clearance, but still pretty decent, and it was a night and day difference.

Memory and a decent graphics subsystem can make a MAJOR difference in the quality of the gear.

Just something to think about...
 
I use an iMac at home, and a Windows 7 laptop for our gigs. We may make the switch to a MacBook soon if some funds open up. Then our Windows 7 laptop is gonna be put to FreeStyler duty.
 
I'm actually considering the move to Mac Mini's for my DJ rig... I found a shelf that would hold 2 of them along with 2 external drive boxes that's rack mountable. It also has cable controls for the mounting. I'd modify my current DJRak monitor mount to handle 2 monitors (if I don't get that custom unit made quick enough). I also need to add another rack mount sound card (although I'm thinking a profire 2626 this time instead of the Fast Track Ultra 8R). But it does mean I might need another mixer since I wouldn't have enough inputs... but it's a work in progress. ;)
 
DJing:

MacBook Pro dual-booted with SnowLeopard 10.6.3 and Windows 7. I prefer to stick with VirtualDJ in native Mac mode, but occasionally have use for plugins which are only available in Windows.

Lighting:

Samsung NetBook w- Windows 7. Elation CompuWare isn't yet available in the Mac flavour, so this is doing the trick for now.
