You can have any kind of possible Ipod cable. Last week at my club someone brought an Ipod and I plugged it into my board using 1/4" ends. Have the necessary adapters and you should be all set. There is no one particular cable because it will depend on where you gonna plug it into RCA, 1/4", XLR etc.
I use a Mackie http://www.mackie.com/home/showimage.html?u=/products/1402vlz3/images/ZOOMED_1402VLZ3.jpg
This Mixer is simply awesome and very quiet!

Why on earth would anyone want to use a digital recorder as a mixer? Seems like a big waste to me.

I use 4 -5 microphones 2 channels for effect return. 1 stereo channel for media player and 4 stereo channels for my pc soundcard. So for me 16 channels are barely enough.

I find the biggest problem with currenlt manucatued mixers is that the connection are on the top of the mixer vs the back side. I like having everything pre wired and it does not look nead or fit into a case very well with the connection on the top of the mixer.

Cheap but will do job:

I like this one but don't know about rack mounting it.

Cam,
I agree with you about connections being on the top. Have you considered the low profile short XLR connectors or the right angle XLR connectors? That may help to reduce the high profile. Thoughts?

The setup would be used for open mic (Comedy) and sometimes for singers. I saw a Behringer 1202FX at Guitar Center for only $94.00

The board needs to have reverb.

Thanks for everybody input!

Cam,

I use these mixers all the time for Karaoke and Open Mic nights, the reasons are that everything is self contained in the boards, compression, gates, expanders, effects, EQs, guitar amp selections so that an electric can be plugged stright into the board, plus you also have the ability to record a performance if requested which I get all the time (at $10 a pop) it doesn't take long to justify the cost of the mixer!

I picked up a job for this coming Saturday from Virginia Lottery and the reason they contacted me for the gig is specifically because I can record and burn to CD on site!

But again the biggest reason for using these mixers is there are no outboard effects and processing needed!:sqwink:

And on my mixer of choice (Tascam 2488) all inputs and outputs are on the back of the mixer!

I may get flamed but the Behringer board I bought has been doing an awesome job. Reverb is one of the FX's available. Comes with rack mount brackets too. At $94...it's real nice.

If it works for you why not? I have a Behringer Mixer that is over 5 years old that is still in service.

I have the 1002 (non FX) version of the Behrnger board. It is OK for the money. I put it in the "good enough" category. The board is noisy when the master is turned up more than about 3/4. And there is some channel bleed when the inputs are hot. There is not a good way to monitor an individual input channel.

That said, the board has held up well over the last few years...despite some rough handling on my part.

Ya I've had my eye on the Soundcraft EFX6 and the EFX8 for a while now... just can't pull the trigger yet.

Ive had the EFX 12 for about a year and a half now. Except for the Tascam I used in school it's the best board I ever used
