RCF art Nirvana

I am really excited I just got two brand new RCF art905as Subs for my art310a Tops

Congratulation man, expensive but amazing subs.
I'm sure they are worth every penny.

I love mine ..... 310's etc

The subs appear to be smaller / lighter than the 705 AS subs.. What are the specs weight / power.. Price ?

Yes they are lighter by about 15 pounds

Weight is 75 pounds
Max SPL 131db
Power 1000W

and yes it pounds!. I used to have 2 EON518S and the RCF`s are louder, more musical and pound harder (they are also more expensive)

Comparisons done so far:


No comparison to the EONs as they are rumblers, the 905's are chest pounders

I still do not believe myself too much and I know I will get some criticism from other members but this is what my ears tell me and my DJ friend who was with me:


One RCF art 905 can pound a tad more than the VRX918SP (although the VRX has a longer throw and it goes louder). I played them side by side and I will take the art905 over the VRX918 any day.



Any comments and questions are welcome I have in my apartment the following:

1 JBL VRX918SP
2 JBL EON518S
2 RCF art905AS

I played them all last night side to side using my art310a tops

Nice system. I am partial to RCF gear, too. However, I wanted to upgrade to 18" subwoofer with plenty of power, so I went with Yorkville LS 801PB. My mains are Yorkville NX750PBs.

I still use my RCF smaller system for most weddings: RCF 200AS (10") and 800AS subwoofers (400 watt ea).

The clarity and efficiency is what I like most about the RCF gear.

Let us know how you like them when you do your first gig.
 
I am surprised to see that RCF went to a standard IEC connector and scaled down crossover with the new 7 series. My ART 705-AS subs have the locking Powercon connectors for power, both in and out for AC and a 80/100/120 Hz selectable crossover instead of the new 80/120 Hz crossover. I usually set the crossover at 100 Hz for large rooms and 80 Hz for small rooms. I do love the new look of the amp section. It looks like the did away with the fan. The 705 has a dead-silent, thermo-controlled 4-speed fan that only comes on when needed as a back up to it's built-in heat sinks. Since the new 7 series features an all-digital amp, I guess a fan was not needed.
