Held in Carlinville at the Best Western. Most booths were positioned either in the lobby or in the walkways to the restaurant.

Since the space was limited, we went with a basic setup and used our 2 Bliss Lights behind some white sheers. Man did those lights get peoples attention.

This was the first year for this particular show so attendance was not overwhelming, but it did give us a lot of face time with those that did show up. I chatted up the staff at the hotel, doing a little PR work.. :)

We ended up doing the Music and announcements for the fashion show in the "big" room due to the DJ being a no-show! A Case of the Other DJ Not Showing Up - Our DJ Talk - DJ Help and Resources Chat!

We were able to network with some Wedding Vendors that we've met at prior shows and with some that we met for the first time today.

Here's a couple of shots of our booth. We were the first booth that everyone had to walk by after entering. :)

As always Kirby you are a class act :yoapplause:

Kirby? No Banner? So would the folks walking by assume you are photography? How did you share the DJ portion? The booth looks awesome as always and it is so cool to see improvement on style etc from one of your first efforts.

beautiful job Kirby
but I have to agree with Tuck, it looks ALL photo to me.
also looks a little DARK, which I assume is the room/lighting.

Thanks Jeff, but I'm more of a Crass act! :D

Thanks Jon.... :)

Nope, no banner for this time around. We lured them to our lair with our Bliss lights shining on the ceiling. Once they are in close.....we strike! :D

We had considered throwing up a pair of speakers and using the banner similar to what we did at the last show, but decided to shake it up a bit. Our front to back space was very limited so we decided to go with this look for this particular show.

It's a good thing we didn't incorporate the speakers and gear into the booth as we would have had to remove them anyway when we were called upon to provide sound in the other room. So it all worked out for the best.

Remember, we very rarely push the gear at these shows and have only taken gear to 2 shows and normally promote the photo part of the business to get 'em in the door with the visual appeal of the photos, etc.

Now, if we had known the setup of the show a bit better we would have bought 2 booths side by side. This was a first time show and the last time I had set foot in this particular venue was over 25 years ago....and I was very drunk, so I didn't remember much about the layout. :sqwink:

nice booth

Thanks Mac, you have a nice booty too! :sqwink: :D

Yes, it was dark in that area. But that worked to our advantage by shooting the 2 Bliss Lights straight up at the ceiling behind those white sheers. It was very cool and wouldn't have worked as well if we were in a better lighted part of the venue. It was our visual calling card, so to speak.

Coreen took a couple of pics with flash, I'll grab one of them and post them in a bit.

We tend to push the photos a bit more as there is a better profit margin. :sqwink: Then we get them to add the DJ service as the icing on the cake.. :D

Despite the low turnout...probably 50 brides max through the door, we have a meeting setup this Saturday from one the attendees that Coreen talked to, looking at our Platinum package.....She called at 8:30 this morning asking if we still had her date open...:sqeek:

I was wondering what kinds of turnouts folks see... I thought the 76 at the one I did was low.... am I wrong or is this about average numbers for these things?

Depends on the size of the community, how long the show has been in existance and how well the show is run and promoted.

A low turnout was expected as this show was in it's first year and in a smaller community.

Some of the smaller shows have worked well for us as the time you can spend with people is longer than in the big cattle-call shows. Plus it's quieter in the smaller shows......Darn DJs make to much $#@# noise...:sqwink:

Here's another pic with the flash utilized.....
