I just got started in the whole up-light thing and the first problem I see is make sure the dealer will back their product. On my first order of 9 lights 3 were bad. Now the dealer wants me to pay for return shipping. So if I keep ordering from this company it looks like my price per light will go up if I have to keep paying for return shipping on bad items. So the story of the day is find a dealer that will back what they sell 100%. Sorry I just had to vent!!!

Hopefully this Dealer is not Ben/NLFX. They won't do you like that. If you had a purchase problem with NLFX, one call and you probably would have new lights on the way to you before yours was even sent back to them. Next time, who you gonna call? :sqwink:

You are right on! Ben and the crew at NLFX will definitely take care of any issues with what they sell!

And the next part of this is....are you likely going to have problems...more times than not...NO!

And the saving money thing...you got to do it at NLFX! They will not do you wrong. I shouldn't speak on their behalf, but they are excellent at what they do, and they truly are concerned about their clients!

They have more times than not helped me out in so many ways, both saving me money, and genuinely being my friend, and this is something I appreciate.

Nobody should ever have to pay return shipping on broken goods. If a vendor asked me to, well that would be the last time I ever bought from them.

We would love to hear the source of customer service Fail. I promise to keep ya out of trouble.

Sorry to hear about your lightings going 'toes up' like that.

Anecdote to show you how good Ben & the NLFX team is:

Ordered 4 Chauvet Rain 56s to go with a pair of 1st generation untis for my NYE wedding. While setting up for the wedding, I noticed that within 20 minutes, one of the brand new Chauvet Rains was DOA.

Happened to have a spare LED fixture & the night went off fine.

That following Monday, I was on the phone with Ben. We talked for a bit & this is when he introduced me to the Omnisistem Par 56 LED lights. I asked & he took the DOA unit back & the other 3 Rains, shipping me in return 4 new Omnisistem units. To be fair, I ordered an additional 2 units to make it 6 lights to demo.

I loved them & at MBLV, picked up another 6 pieces.

Ben will treat you right.

(BTW Ben, still waiting to hear about that TAF4-XLR adapter for my EV wireless bodypack). Thanks.

Cheers,

Joe

Thanks for the reminder Joe. :) I'll e-mail myself a note so when I get back in the shop (on the road at the moment) I can take care of it. :) The XLR is taking line level signal and we need to pad it to mic level for the BPU-2, right?

Ben,

I was on EV's site & found this link -

http://www.electro-voice.com/product.php?id=998

Is this what I need?

I will then plug the XLR-F end of this piece into a XLR-M to 1/4 TRS adapter that plugs into the Booth out on my mixer.

The goal, is to use my lav pack as a wireless transmitter to up to 3 possible recievers. (My various RE-2 systems that I'm using) for an upcoming wedding where the guests will be in 3 different rooms for dinner.

Like you said in LV, 1012 channels available beats 10, right?

Thanks again.

Joe

Ok, update, I did contact the company again try and get this issue resolved. I received an email today and it basically said that they would NOT pay for to ship them back. So at a cost of about $4.00 per light its not that expensive, but now its is a personal thing that I am not willing to put up with. I also can not count on their products quailty.

these wouldn't happen to be the 9 LED uplights you posted for sale on the Gear Exchange, are they?
you didn't mention the brand or the model of the lights, and didn't mention that three of them are not working.
If I am wrong, or if I sound "snitty"...I apologize...
but I have a friend who may be interested if they are in good working order.

It boils down to this...

All resellers are trying to make a living. To do so they have to make a profit on each item they sell.

The profit, or margin as it is usually referred to, takes into consideration overhead, insurance, payroll and warranty service. There are some outfits that only consider profit and don't consider the cost of warranty service.

Lets face it, there is a percentage of equipment that will fail 'out of the box' or shortly after that, that's life. How your supplier takes care of the situation may just be worth the extra couple of bucks per fixture they have to charge.

The sweat taste of a bargan becomes hard to swallow if service isn't on the table.
