Wireless router recommendation?

I need a wireless router that I can use around the house for up to 4 computers...2 desktops & 2 lappys.

I was using Rosewill N routers, until the FIOS came in. They work great, and are fairly inexpensive. When they put the FIOS in, Verizon gave me a new wireless router that works great (although I have it turned off, because I ran out of tinfoil for hats)... :D

I use lynksys. My laptop and one desk top run off if it no problem. I got it at wal mart. Fairly inexpensive.

I have 2 of the Linksys WRT160N. Have not had any real problems with them. Bought them from Tiger Direct. They have the recertified (what I bought) on sale now:

On the Subject of the WRT160N I Can't say I have had the same experience. I have went through about 4 of them in a year. They keep crapping out on me. Wireless connectivity is a joke, one minute its on, next its off and the route is resetting. I've up dated the firmware, downgraded the firmware. Nothing. I personally can NOT recommend this router to any one. (i'm not the only one, check the Linksys forums)

I went back to use my old n' trusty Linksys WRT54G. It is solid like a rock, and has never had to be reset or crashed. It was made back when Cisco and Linksys still cared. You can still find them on eBay if you want an older model.

The new one - Linksys WRT54G2 looks like it has the same internals as the older models just in a new casing.

If your laptops don't have Wireless N, don't waste your money on it, albeit a few dollars. Get a better Wireless G router then a cheap Wireless N.

If you need some more advice PM me.

I will second the WRT54 I have one that has been running for going on three years without issues!

Those are good! Mine is over 7 years and still humming along.

I use a Belkin G+MIMO (Mulit in-multi out) Wireless router. It has 4 ethernet plugs to wire direct, and can handle up to 10 wireless connections. I have 3 wireless lappys, my satellite DVR, and 2 weather gateways hooked into this router, and has never given me any trouble at all.

I personally prefer D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N Router.the D-Link Wireless N Router DIR-615 makes a great entry-level Wireless-N router and would satisfy most situations where a wireless network is needed.
