I still have a few hundred -- I sold most when I switched to CDs, and just sold everything as a package.

I kept the ones that I liked the most though -- and still haul them around everytime I move... :sqerr:

Still enjoy listening to some of the 12" disco singles now and again, and I have a bunch of masters for my fave albums

have a collection of LP's I snickered from the radio station over the years.
some I really wanted
some are colored vinyl
but every single one has been collecting dust in my basement since the 80's.
not even sure what I have any more!

we recently started major renovations on the studios
and got rid of HUNDREDS of LP's and CD's
I didn't have the room to keep the CD's (and had most of the music already)
and the vinyl was mostly un-known artists that we only kept around to use as background music.
don't worry...it was all donated to local college stations.

I have alot of 12" remixes of the 80s & a few hundred 45s from the 80s incl. those cool picture sleeves they came with (Huey Lewis/Banarama/Lionel Richie etc.) I have milk crates full of albums (collectable Runaways & Suzi Quatro) and a Numark USB mp3 turntable to convert them all....someday...someday

I'm also the proud owner of an antique RCA phonograph from the Victor Talking Machine Co. It's a beautiful floor model w/ thick 10" records of Billie Holiday, Cole Porter & the Andrew Sisters. That's what I got.

I kept my favorite 125 lps (approximately) and a handful of 45's, after I sold off my over 3,000 vinyl collection which included 12" singles, promo copies, colored vinyl, picture discs, imports....all of which were in very good to excellent condition. I kick myself in the posterior for doing so......

You might enjoy this story my Grandma passed on to me...

The Andrews Sisters were from Tuxedo, NY -- not far from us. Our family had a saloon here, on the highway.

They would pass through here, on their way upstate, and stop for a shot and some coffee. My Grandfather did not allow women in the bar, so they had to stay in their car or outside, and the chauffeur would come in, and order the shots and coffee for them. Grandma would take it out to them

I asked her if they were nice, and she just shrugged, and said "eh"...


I would not be surprised, if I came across some vinyl signed by them here -- I haven't gone through everything yet...

That's what I love about music..."the song remains the same" as we all continue to play them year after gig but it's those intangalbe stories from those who have them to share that gives music depth for me - not to imply anyone here still plays the Andrew Sisters

Last time I checked my vinyl was in the mid 80's. I stopped when I reached 8,000. I knew I bought a lot after that up until 2003. I also have over 200 45 RPM's

45 RPM singles @6000

A lot have been purchased in CD format but there's still some stuff in my collection that's not available in CD. And I love the old stuff so there's no way in hell I'm ever selling my stuff regardless if it's on vinyl or CD.
