I believe Kat & Ben are still on the road.

I don't think that being on the road really affects this issue, I think it is more an ethical concern! If I was in the business of sales of competing products I do not believe that i would publish findings on the performance of another's product when that products manufacturer doesn't want that information published (if they did they would publish it themselves)

Perhaps not so much an ethical concern (although I think it would be for me in that position) as it would be a legal concern!

I think Ben may have done this test for his own personal curiosity than for any other reason, perhaps to compare it to the comments that others of us have made concerning the performance of the bose L1.

I hope he got what he was looking for!

I wish I had had the testing equipment available to me when I did my own testing of the system! I had to rely on a frequency generator and SPL meter! While it told me a lot it wasn't really a true test to the system, which is another key piece in the posting of Ben's analysis of the system as well, not truly a diffenitive test where the results could honestly be posted as a profesional opinion!

Although I agree with you Steve I think the number are pretty well known to those interested and are pretty close to the numbers we had shared a while back

This is a better sound analyzer. It's called the blue hair scrutinizer.
You place an old lady in front of your speaker while playing music at mid volume. Try it with your speaker!

Oh Beecher, you out did me again. The analyzer I mentioned "ROT analyzer" stands for "Really Old Timer". Put one in front and watch what happens. It's the only analyzer I need.

I know you won't share the results of your test but I am sure the curiosity is burning in a lot of people right now! LOL
Not me. I have no idea what any of these results mean. I only use the Beecher test. It's true and accurate.:sqwink:

Ok Ben, my 'inner geek' is asking...

What did your findings show?

Can you share them here?

Can you compare these to other systems that you provided?

Sorry, don't mean to de-rail.... if you want to start another post, that'd be cool.

THANKS!

Joe

Ben,

I know you won't share the results of your test but I am sure the curiosity is burning in a lot of people right now! LOL

Given the polarity this topic brings to our beloved community (inclusive of entire threads, signatures, avatars, etc), I would prefer to not discuss the findings in the forum. I wish I had taken a screen shot of the RTA, then I might be more willing to post because we could garner some educational merit from it, but I see this just turning into another one of "those" threads.

I have a lot of friends and good customers (Joe, you included) who own Bose systems. They serve you well, and that's all that matters.

You are so kind and SO wise. I feel the warmth of your words flowing through my monitor with a gentle tug on my heart strings.
NOW GET KAT BACK ON THE DAMN BOARD, SHE'S HAD ENOUGH VACATION.:sqwink:

There were actually 5 pairs of speakers represented at the NLFX Pro Booth. The EV ZXA5's had to be put on the other side of the truss. :sqeek:

Ben asked me to do a blindfolded listening test with all five.

My preference was in this order;

1) EV ZXA5 damn these sounded good loud!

2) EV TourX 1122

3) EV SB/ZX

4) QSC 8's/Sub

5) QSC 12's

This past spring I bought a pair of the EV ZXA5 speakers & I too could not believe the power & the outstanding sound these can produce. It would've been nice to have the Dynacords & Bose competing in this comparision.
