This is from a movie called Duets. I'm a big fan of Paul Giamatti and I was amazed at what a fine singer he is, great song too:

this is a slower version of A Taste Of Honey and a very good one IMO:

And a new favorite of mine, Booker T and the MGs-Green Onions:

You gonna make me have to pull out my old vinyl Wiz. I love Booker T. Check out his album entitled "McLemore Avenue". its supposed to be a mirror of the Beatles Abbey road album.

Booker T and the MGs was one of my recent CD purchases. I listen to Green Onions over and over. It's amazing how many versions of that song are on Youtube, check it out.

I don't have to check it out Wiz! LOL When I was doing House Parties in the Virgin Islands in the very early 70s, I was already playing their music. Again, I have a whole collection of their albums. My first one was purchased in 1970.

too bad the movie never did anything for Huey Lewis' career...
(the acting OR the musical career)

I haven't seen the movie, I keep saying to my wife that we're going to rent it but for some reason I never get around to it. I'm sure I'll like it, I know I can relate although I won't enter any Karaoke contests anymore. It has a lot of good actors that I like too.

Booker T & The MGs are a local band. They still perform on occasion. Booker T, Steve Cropper, Donald 'Duck' Dunn and Al Jackson Jr. Living legends (Al died in the 70's) They were the house band on many of the hit songs that came out of Stax Studio back in the day. They were also part of the Blues Brothers Band too. I could go on and on about them.

I just looked Booker T up on Wikipedia and he was a prodigy. He wrote Green Onions while he was still in High School and was playing multiple instruments at a young age. They have another song called "Behave yoursef" which I couldn't find a video for. What a fantastic song, to me nearly the perfect song. I have it in my collection, but I don't know how to post the song . . .

McLemore Ave. is where Stax is located.
