Whatever happened to the big Bose vs Dynacord showdown? Did y'all cancel it? Now I can't even remember who the players were!

like anything those that dont want the truth known wont want it to occur. Those who know the truth want it. I say Bring it on.

Unfortunately, a business down turn caused us to put things on a back burner... honestly it was more or less a chance for me to get to hear a system I would otherwise not to get to hear.... rather than some sort of showdown...

It really never was intended to be a contest or anything with a winner or whatever... just a chance to listen.

Now we are both very busy with events and what not....

No need to defend any ones choice in equipment... I've always been of the mind that what works for one may not for the other... to each their own.

I love my Bose as those that own Dynacord love theirs.... it truely isn't a matter of mine's bigger than yours but, that it does what each individual needs their system to do, or not do.

yea, I think sometime it would be sweet to have a gathering of different DJ's to display what they have for light and sound, and invite a ton of other DJ's that are just starting out to come listen also to help them decide what type of sound/light production they want. Some want small and simple, some want large and extravagant, it's all a matter of personal preferences, and as much or even more importantly, what the customer wants.

cc... That is a fantastic idea!! Just starting out in this business, I am getting overwhelmed at the amount of stuff out there for us to use. A chance to see different setups and how they each work for each person would be invaluable for a beginner unable to recognize the pros and cons of all the different professional systems. Id go to an event like this!!

yes, it would be sweet, but getting people together from all across the country could be expensive also.

Perhaps it should be co-sponsored by Dynacord and Bose, then they can pay the mileage for people to bring their systems in!

Don't hold yer breath! It ain't gonna happen.

Guys - we already do it...at Mobile Beat.

Okay...so it has not happened exactly as you all describe, but it could easily! As many of you know we have a private demo room each year with NLFX. There has been a standing invitation to any DJ or manufacturer to bring in whatever they like to do a comparison against similar Dynacord or EV products...so far nobody has taken us up on the offer...we are ready when you are! Hope to see you there next year!

Actually almost had a bite last yr. Peter was going to bring in his L1 setup and go head to head and then he forgot or something.:sqwink::sqwink::sqwink::sqwink:

Does it really matter?

LOL.... I suppose outwardly you'd want such a showdown to be down-played if you were on the side that inwardly knew would come up wanting....:sqlaugh:

But in all seriousness, each one has it's place. For me, I'd take Bose for cocktails, dinner & vocal announcements throughout the event, and then a set of real honest to goodness AIR-MOVING SPEAKERS for the real dance music on the floor. Neither can outshine the other in those respective realms. The IDEAL scenario would see a blending and utilization of both approaches for the respective aspects of any given event.

Each is what it is and ain't what it ain't. Either side claiming it is everything or can outshine the other in their respective strengths is silly. Neither is a panacea or be-all-end-all - it's just a question of how you weigh your pros and cons and what you value more overall.
