....the client specified white short sleeved shirt because of the hot day under a tent, black tie, and black pants. I was doing what the client wanted and giving her one hell of a wedding.

My wedding last night was also under a tent, on thier farm. The temp was 86. The groom and best man were dressed in red hirts and white shorts. The bride requested that we wear jeans or shorts and a polo or short sleeve shirt. We did, rocked the party, got a $100 tip and booked two parties for next month.

:sqbiggrin::sqbiggrin:

Good work Tom!!!!

Just goes to prove that it is not what you wear but what you do. Sounds like you had a great wedding.

The interesting thing is that I kept getting asked for business cards. I don't carry them anymore because of the closing in November but my assistant is starting his own company and was collecting their information.

He does a great job himself and will make a good DJ if he can break out. I've been thinking of holding the gear and letting him use it till he can get together the funding to get his own and maybe flipping roles with him for a while after I shut down.

That sounds like a great idea. My oldest son is going to start helping me with events next week. I don't "need" help because my wife comes to every event but he wants to learn the rops and he could use a couple of extra bucks.

I think its a win/win.

Wolfie DJed the street festivals every year in short sleeves and a vest. The sponsors called me back every year for over twelve years.

Guess that makes me the bad guy, too.

:D

My semi-formal option I give the clients is a black short-sleeve button-down shirt (tucked in, or not depending on the shirt style) with a tie, and black slacks and black dress shoes.

I loathe long sleeves. I need the range of motion I have without them, and I just don't like the feel of them.

I do where a tux if requested, and I give each and every client the option, but most all of my clients are down-to-earth, gracious, and considerate enough, to go with the semi-formal option.

I don't "do" jackets or blazers either. For me, it's a full-on tux or short-sleeve shirt with tie. There is no "in-between" option. :sqlaugh:

Here's a pic with my old equipment from a wedding last year. And no, I don't charge extra for the extra chins. :)

I typically perform in a short sleeved open collar shirt unless a Tux is requested. I have a choke problem since having neck surgery and cant wear a Tie. The most I can wear is a Mandarin Collar with a broach, vest and Tux Jacket. I have yet to hit a road block when explained.

I offered the options of tux or business suit and the client specified white short sleeved shirt
Over inflated belly was optional. Over inflated ego comes with the package.

"Hey look guys I can push play with my belly button"

If a client asked you to wear diapers would you do it? Like I said, you look like a bus driver. That was your choice.
Of course the client doesn't have a choice with you. It's either jackass or nothing.

At least Tom had the nads to post of picture of himself. I'll give him credit for that one. I don't even see your name. Are we hiding something?

I knew it wouldn't be long before someone mentioned "the shed".

Hey... the bigger the tool, the bigger the shed. ;)

OK, now that we've cleared the ice of Zamboni, here's one more from the owner of that beautiful bod...

"And now, ladies and gentlemen, at this time I would like to present to you, DJ Ralph Cramden!"

The young whiper snappers won't get it but us old farts will.

On behalf of Good Knight Entertainment, good night...

Damn, that sucks:( But you're right. Seriously - who's gonna insist on you wearing a tie to the point of losing you as a dj. Just don't see it happening!
