I have tried to market bubble parties around here but so far there has been little interest.

young...

Interesting to me... where I live daycare centers are actively searching for new entertainment ideas. And less expensive ones. I fit the bill in both cases. Though, some daycare centers are now going to have their 3rd season of parties from me, so maybe I am not exactly "new".

Maybe where you move will be better for them if you have the time to do them.

I have a love/hate relationship with kids:

Generally, I dislike kids...unless they are extremely well-behaved and polite.

I love the fact that they have to go back home to momma or papa, and I don't have to deal with them.

I have zero tolerance for screaming kids that run around like banshees, and even less respect for the parents that let them do that...especially at restaurants and other public places but THAT'S a completely different thread! :sqlaugh:

I have a FT job and doubt the hours leave I would need to take would be worth the pay for the jobs. Now if I were a FT DJ, definitely would pursue the Bubble Party market. I have a couple of small bubble machines, but have only used them at a few outdoor events like picnics and pool parties.

My market already has the established "Bubble Guy"... in fact, Bubble Parties were invented here. However, that reason aside, it's simply not an avenue that I choose to focus on.

You mean by John Allo? With absolutely no disrespect to John, as I was friends with him, who knows who really "invented" them? Certainly he was the first person I heard of doing them, but it would not surprise me if some non DJ forum DJ hasn't been doing it for a ton of years...

I voted other. I tried to get into it before John put out his package. Did a bunch of marketing to the local and areas around me. Got no interest.

I do live in a very rural area where you have NO day care centers. Only home based daycare so I think that might be part of it.

I even tried to "play Santa" for daycares but no one wanted to pay. They got their own santa suits and had friends do it.

Yes, I do mean John. Although bubble machines have been around since the days of Lawrence Welk, the reason you heard of Bubble Parties as an income source for mobile DJs was because John Allo was doing them.

Other...I just don't see that there's enough of a market around here to make it profitable.

Are you guessing, or did you do research, or possibly give it a shot?

Now, to be fair, I probably have 25 daycare centers in a 5 mile radius from my home. In fact, my kids have attended 3 different ones, and I have done bubble parties for all 3.

Ok, that's gonna be nearly close the total number of daycare centers in our city.

You might really be surprised. I had no idea we had so many until I syarted doing the events.... then you take notice of them.... Heck, I just found one I never knew of that is in a residential neighborhood. Plus, I am now marketing to a few companies that have onsite daycare for the employees.
