New and improved, too many updates to list here. No Mac version (beta available). Been using for a few hours looks better and sounds better and most of all preforms better.

Now just need a DMC-1/DAC-2 mapper and I'll be all set.

I tried to map my DAC but brain is not functioning.

I installed it when you posted this and it has been running flawless :D:D:D:D:D

Back from the trenches... didn't want to update HOURS before an event. Looking forward to 6.0!

So what are some of the major updates?
Major updates=
New timecode engine.
New controller interface (many more controlers native)
New script language.
NetSearch. (crawls the internet for that special song.)
Improved video engine.
New skin engine. (on the fly scaling)

I must say I would never switch from OTS but I do own VDJ and I was very impressed. There is some option that allows you to download music and videos on the fly from the net if you have a wireless connection. It puts it into some format that only VDJ could use. But it make is so that if you have a connection to the internet you would never not have the song. The sound is also very good.

Uh-Oh!!!

I was able to upgrade to VDJ 6.0 on my Windows 7 32bit OS installation but, ran into a Protection Error 6 on the same maching but Vista 64bit....

I've sent a message to VDJ Tech Support.... I hope this isn't a 64bit issue....:sqmad:

Good thing I burned a copy of 5.2.1 Pro for just in case...

Just as I feared....

Windows Vista 64 reported to me potential incompatibilities with recent installations... and VDJ 6 was one of them with no solution according to Vista... so back to Version 5.2.1 for now on Vista 64 and continue with Version 6.0 on Windows 7.... the draw back is that my wifi card doesn't work on Windows 7 so no Network music..... unless there is a regular wifi network available to me.

Not a Vista64 problem, I am running it without a glitch on my 64 bit machine.

Then I'm at a loss.... cause as soon as it calls out to the mothership I get Protection Error 6....

They had me disable my firewall re-install and still I get the error.

1. Disable any firewalls
2. Download and select "Run"
3. Enter user license
4. Should be running..... but, I still get the Error.

A few people are having problme with their license keys and VDJ6.

The other possibility is that because I am running a Dual Boot OS system that installing it on one then trying to install it on the other created some sort of conflict.... dunno but, once I un-installed VDJ and then installed it everything was fine agian.... just gonna have to push that "I Believe" button as I may never know the reason why.

If you are wondering what controlers are native to VDJ6 here is the list.

I saw that in the Config.... I assume that unlike before the controller has to be connected in order for it to be activated in the software... is that correct?

Also, unless I'm missing it I don't see a place to disable the keyboard shortcuts when in the browser... I was forever stopping the music every time I hit the "S" key while searching my database.... until I found how to turn off the short cuts.

I put it on the desktop to run it through my basic test. All was well.

I put it on the rig and all is wonderful.

Hats off to the folks at VDJ again. Tis the best thing France came out with since ... errrr ..... ummmm, well, since French Bread.

I've been gigging with it for 3 months. It's solid.. there's still a quirk or two, but we beta tested the living hell out of it!

A couple of things for you...

NOD32 and VDJ6 do not get along well on vista, and some XP machines.

also, VDJ6.0 corrupts the 5.2 version on many computers... if this is happening, you need to pick one or the other.. the two may not live happily side by side.

If you do a net search, and it seems to take too long, just right click on the pause button for 2 seconds, and it'll unload it.

If it's midi, you can map it... it's got a new function where you can grab a function from the actual skin to program it... simple simon man!
I could also share something funny about the sound engine, but.. well, I'll leave that alone... Glad you're enjoying it...
